nice one Sarah

So the other day I saw a tiny little spider on the floor...right next to Aiden...so the protective mommy instinct kicked in (ok no - actually my insane arachnophobia kicked in) and I started beating the little spider with a shoe until it was nothing more than a few little black specs. Because I acted so violent to the poor little spider, Aiden looked up at me with fright in his eyes and started bawling. He has never seen his mommy be so crazy I am sure.  I have now ruined my child. After calming Aiden down and reassuring him I am a nice mommy, he started staring at the carpet and pointing and panicking at a tiny little black piece of lint. I tried to walk by it and he got all frightened again and just pointed at the little lint on the floor and almost started crying again. He stood still until I picked up the piece of lint and threw it in the trash. Then Aiden went back to normal.

Well...that was definitely not the last time he has panicked about seeing a little tiny dark piece of something on the floor. Now he won't sit down on the floor until he checks around him and makes sure there are no little black things that will get him. We manually vacuum up our house multiple times during the day because Aiden points out everything...and I mean everything! He even got scared in the bath a few nights ago because something was floating in it. Nate and I both looked and couldn't see anything in it, but Aiden refused to sit down cause apparently there was a tiny little spec of something floating in his water. What have I done to my son?!

Haha. I'm sure he will forget about it soon, no worries! Maybe it's just a phase. =)

That is too funny! You have scarred him for life, haven't you? :)
