(I love Aiden's huge smile in this picture!)
Once we got up Friday night, we set up camp and settled in. Aiden LOVES the outside and spent the entire weekend exploring. There was a creek nearby with a tunnel coming out of it and boy did Aiden love that. The entire weekend we heard "to the riber" (river), "tunnel, one more time", "water coming", "one more rock", "pycones" (pinecones), "spite, one more sip" (sprite), "nanny, one more bite" (candy), and "up the mountian". My parents, Becca, and Nate took turns following Aiden down to the creek to throw in rocks, look for squirrels, and collect pinecones. He soaked up everything little thing about camping. Brennan loved being outside too. We would all take turns holding him and he was so relaxed in our arms. We kept him bundled up at night cause it was chilly! He was so good the entire time!
Surprisingly, little B fell asleep so easy that first night. Aiden was the one that took 2 1/2 hours to calm down and relax enough to go to bed. He just wanted to be by the fire like the rest of us I guess.

Saturday morning we woke up and huddled around the fire drinking hot chocolate and eating a warm breakfast. That hot chocolate never tasted so good and it warmed us up fast! Who would have thought September weather would be so cold! It made me realize I am definitely not ready for the cold months ahead :)
For lunch, Nathan and Danae came up and Camryn and Aiden loved playing together. They are two peas in a pod!
After a delicious lunch, we headed back home to shower because Nate, my dad, Nathan, and Becca went to go watch the BYU game. Go Cougs! They watched a great game while my mom and I and the boys went shopping. It was perfect to have an excuse to come back home for a night to shower and sleep in comfy beds before going back up for another night and day.
(Please ignore the "I-just-woke-up-camping-in-the-cold-weather-and-I'm-cold-and-still-tired look!!)

After church sunday, we headed back up. We played some fun games, sat around and read and talked and relaxed. It was a perfect afternoon. (Except for the fact that I forgot to grab more diapers for the boys so we had to go back home again to grab some).
After having soup for dinner, it got pretty chilly so we spent the rest of the evening around the fire. We sat around roasting marshmallows all night.
(Notice Elephant? Ya, he of course came too)
(B wore a snow suit over his multiple layers and we bundled him in lots of blankets to make sure he didn't get too cold!)

Looks like you had so much fun! And P.S. You look great in the that supposed cold-tired picture! Your boys are getting sooo big!
This looks like so much fun! Your boys look like they loved it, too. Aiden's huge smile with your mom in the first picture is too cute!
I really missed going up the canyon with my family this summer. It's such a great family activity, and one that I definitely took for granted before!
