its beginning to look a lot like Christmas

This past week has been wonderful. The rain definitely doesn't make it feel very "Christmasy" but all the fun Christmas activities and parties sure do. And we're excited for a lot more next week too. We love this time of year!

My parents gave our boys the cutest matching Christmas outfits to start off our holiday.  They look like little studs :)
We had a fun time at the annual Curtis Family talent show.  Andrew, Melanie, and Jackson flew in from Boston to spend Christmas with us and it has been a lot of fun having the entire family together (minus Steve who gets back from his mission in just a few weeks).  Every year my parents give us all $100 to use to serve in the community somehow or another.  So we gathered and talked about all the interesting service opportunities we got to do.  And we had a photo-op for my mom's Christmas card.  The 5 little grandkids are so cute and its fun to see them all interact.
We also got to attend a fun Christmas work party.  The Macfarlanes definitely know how to throw an amazing party.  We had a gingerbread house contest and I think Nate and I made possibly the ugliest gingerbread house ever.  The rule was to make it 2 stories high and sturdy enough to withstand some "natural disaster" so we focused on making the sturdiest house we could.
Well the "natural disaster" was having a pool ball thrown at it.  Needless to say, our gingerbread house wasn't only ugly but it crumbled instantly after being hit with the ball.  If we ever do this challenge again we'll be more creative for sure.
We also went to Thanksgiving Point for a fun Santa Claus breakfast.  We go to one every year.  In the past we've gone to Wheeler Farm or the Zoo, but Thanksgiving Point's breakfast definitely takes the cake.  They had Mrs. Claus, a polar bear, penguin, gingerbread man, Buddy the Elf, and of course, Santa.  They had fun activities for the kids to make - like making a penguin out of an oreo and a dancing contest.  Aiden was in heaven.
Aiden kept staring down Buddy and looking at his funny costume.
My grandma and some of her grandkids and great-grandkids that went:
My mom also got lucky and scored 4 tickets to the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and David Archuleta concert that night.  The performance was incredible.  In the past, the MOTAB always has older singers join them for their Christmas concert so I wasn't sure how a pop star like David Archuleta would do.  But he truly was astounding!
And I just threw this picture in of Aiden, Camryn, and Jackson watching 101 Dalmations with grandma and grandpa.  They are three little peas in a pod.
And now onto another fun week of celebrating!
