The four of us took a fun little trip to Boise. We stayed at Jared & Trina's house and we loved spending time with them and their boys. We enjoyed visiting with them until late each night, watching the Superbowl, eating out, and watching Aiden have the time of his life playing with his cousins all day long.
Aiden and Luke are such good little buddies now. They are only a few weeks apart. It was so cute to see the two 2-year-olds interact.
Aiden loved playing with Will and Drew too. They had a blast in the rec room. They are all such cute little guys! Brennan loved crawling after the boys too and trying to join in on the fun.
The boys flexing their muscles...
On Monday night, Jared & Trina watched the boys while Nate and I got to go on a date to see Nikki perform in Legally Blonde. Nikki is one of my very best friends from high school. I watched her as the lead at Lone Peak, and then perform as a young ambassador at BYU, and then right out of college star in the Broadway Across America performance of Legally Blonde as Elle Woods (the lead!). It has been incredible to see her go so far! We got to the show early to get a little backstage tour of the production. We got to meet her two adorable dogs from the show too. Here we are before Nikki changed into a blonde...
And once she turned blonde, she showed us a few of her costumes for the show. The performance itself was amazing. The show was hilarious. She is an incredible actress, singer, and dancer!
We bought tickets for Legally Blonde a few months ago. I wanted to make sure we got tickets early enough so we could make sure to get them before it was sold out and make sure we had decent seats. So a few hundred dollars later, we had our tickets in hand from an online ticket company. Well, a few days before we left for Boise, Nate asked me where the tickets were. I looked where I thought they were and they were no where to be found. So I searched the next place they could be - and they were no where to be found again. And that process went on and on until we searched every nook of our house and still had zero tickets. The tickets came at about the same time as a bunch of other packages for Christmas so I realized I could have accidentally thrown them away with the other boxes and things we got around the same time. So we looked up online to see if we could get replacement tickets and the site said ABSOLUTELY NO REPLACEMENT TICKETS WHATSOEVER. So at this point, I was panicking we wouldn't be able to see her show. I am usually pretty organized so I was so annoyed I had no idea where those tickets went. So after a few hours of still having zero tickets, Nate, the sweet, patient, loving, hubby he is, searched online with me to find new tickets. Luckily, we stumbled on a website that still had tickets! So instead of waiting to see if our tickets would turn up, we just bought two more. I think they were the last few tickets left for the show. Yes they were on the very back row of the theater, but we were just happy to have some! I have definitely learned my lesson of being a little more organized with important things. The show was definitely worth paying for the tickets twice! Nikki was amazing.
We had an awesome trip. Aiden keeps begging to go to "Luke's house" every day. I have to keep explaining that Luke lives too far to visit every day but that concept is hard for a 2-year-old to understand. So instead Aiden found a picture of all 7 of them and he loves pointing and naming everyone off. :) And I can't wait to see what fun role Nikki lands next so we can plan another trip to see her perform.

That's great that you were able to support Nikki! I can't believe the tickets never showed up, or that you couldn't refund the first batch to be able to buy the second ones!! I would have bawled my eyes out!!!
I'm so glad you were able to see Nikki perform! She must make an amazing Elle. It's still so crazy to see her blonde! Oh, but I'm so sorry about that ticket nightmare! That is definitely something I would do--I always lose things when I put them in "safe" places. I'm glad it all worked out in the end, though!
