So far this summer we have played and played and played. We've been having a blast. Of course life isn't always about playing, but in the summertime it seems like the days are longer and the warm weather outside allows for more options of fun things to do.
Here are some of our happenings from the last couple of weeks...
{swim lessons}
Aiden and Camryn took swim lessons together. Prior to his swim lessons, Aiden was super cautious in the water and stuck right with me or Nate. But after just one day of swim lessons, he came home and told us "I can swim all by myself" and since then he is SO comfortable in the water and doesn't really need our help anymore. So we're happy that first 30-minute lesson cured him of his extreme caution in the water. It makes it easier for us.
{pool time}
Often after swimming we just head over to the pool. And when Nate was doing the ragnar a couple weekends ago, Becca spent the night with us and we went swimming a lot. The boys LOVE when she comes along. She's more fun than me.
{Cedar Hills parade and carnival}
Becca marched in the parade so we went to cheer her on.
And Cedar Hills had actual "rides" this year... so they are stepping it up!
Poor guy isn't quite big enough to join in on the fun.
{Splash pad}
The new splash pad in Alpine is awesome. Other than the fact that the ground is too slippery for little feet (Brennan turfed it a few times), the boys loved it. We'll be back a lot I'm sure.
{Dates to the Movies}
Last weekend we also gotta take Aiden on a date to see CARS 2 which was a cute movie. He is not much a a movie/tv watcher so he got a little restless at the end cause it is so long, but we still had a good time.

Then we gotta go on a double date to see SUPER 8 with our friends Jason and Emily the next day which was also a good movie. Two movies in one weekend is definitely unusual for us. But we'll take it :)
{Dinosaur Museum}
Thanks to the summer reading program at the library, we had a free pass for Aiden so we headed back to the museum with a few cousins. They both loved the "digging for dino" section but I did not like finding sand in their shoes, socks, clothes, and hair afterwards :)
{Zoo}
And it can't be summer without a trip to the zoo. We met up with Luanne and her kids, Jill and Zoe, Ali, Carolyn and her kids, and my mom.
Aiden didn't care about the animals as much as the train of course.
{Swimming at the Howards}
We love having a TON of cousins on the Tadje side. We had a lot of fun swimming with them even though it started pouring rain!
(Samantha, McKay, Lydia, Aiden, Grandpa, Brennan)
(Max and Lincoln)
(Spencer, Emma, Luke, Alyssa)
(And our cheese ball...As soon as he sees the camera, he sits there like this for a couple minutes - long after I've put the camera away)
Wow - that was a long post! I think I'm finally done.
