aiden-isms

Aiden is at such a fun age.  He asks LOTS of questions trying to figure the world out and I can practically see the wheels spinning in his head.  He is so obedient and creative and willing to learn and loving - he really is a special kid.  Early this morning, I was out in the living room, thinking everyone was asleep when Aiden walked out of his room with his backpack on, ready to go to preschool.  He loves it.  After laughing at how adorable he looked in his pajamas and backpack - still waking up from a long night sleep - I told him he had to wait about 3 more hours.  He seemed a little bummed but he patiently waited all morning and was so happy when it was finally preschool time.

I feel like I am pretty good about journaling on this blog and in our family scrapbooks, but one thing I have not been good about is recording some of the funny comments that come out of Aiden's mouth.  When they happen I tell myself I'll remember that, but sadly, I never do.  So here are a few of the funny things Aiden has said recently.

One day there was a bounce house across the street from us and Aiden and his cousin went to play on it.  The next morning, Aiden woke up, noticing it was gone, and asked "Where'd the bounce house go?"  Nate and I were in the middle of a conversation when Aiden kept asking us "Where'd the bounce house go?  Where'd it go?  Where's the bounce house daddy...mommy..." over and over.  After the 15th time of asking, Nate quickly said, "It died and went to heaven" so we could finish our conversation.  Aiden stopped, looking very concerned and asked, "Then will Jesus make a new one?"

I had a meeting with our Bishop and Aiden tagged along.  While we were walking out the door Aiden asked, "Do you work here?" and the Bishop replied "Yes, this is where I do my church work" and Aiden said, "Then where is your laptop?"

Aiden's prayers on the best.  He never asks for anything - he just thanks Heavenly Father the whole time - for all sorts of random things.  They are so sweet and they really come from his little heart.  In the eyes of a 3-year-old - these are the things he is grateful for...

Heavenly Father - thank you some day (for this nice day)
thank you we could eat dinner.
thank you we could go to church today. (he says this every day - no matter if it's Sunday or not)
thank you we could go to nursery.
thank you we could watch fireman sam.
thank you he could put out fires.
thank you we could drive by the ambulance and the fire truck with their sirens on.
thank you we could play with Hudson.
thank you we could eat candy.
thank you me and Brennan could spin around in circles today (stand up-spin in a circle during the prayer)
thank you we could play with chalk.
thank you we could ride my bike.
thank you I didn't have to have a bath today.
In the name....

I know there are more adorable things that have come from his mouth, but at the moment my mind is blank.  So I will definitely be posting more aiden-isms in the future so I don't forget them!

It's a great idea to write down the cute things Aiden says because you will forget things as he grows up! He does say great prayers!
