why we love October

{October Baking}
I LOVE baking and cooking in the fall.  Once the weather cools down a little bit, it means I can make pumpkin bread and soup and so many yummy Halloween treats.  A&B have been great helpers in the kitchen and have definitely reaped the benefits of helping me out.
 {Hanging out Outside}
Being at the park in the summer is fun of course but it is usually unbearably hot.  We love spending the day at the park when it isn't too hot.  Lately I just spread out a blanket and relax while the two boys run around and entertain themselves.  And we especially like it when friends join us.
{Hanging out Inside}
Sadly not every day is warm so we have been spending more time indoors.  I try to keep the kids busy with arts and crafts and games and books and all but of course we allow them to watch a show here and there.  Their new favorite activity is sitting on Aiden's bed and watching Barney on the iPad.  I'm not a huge Barney fan (I find the show quiet obnoxious) but at least it is educational, right?
 {Conference Weekend}
I LOVE General Conference.  It is so amazing to be able to spend a whole two days listening to the prophets and apostles of our church.  Watching Conference with two little kids is not always the easiest task but we still got to enjoy most of it.  This year I even made Conference packets for my boys with coloring pages of the prophet, Conference BINGO, and other fun worksheets I found online...but those only lasted about 10 minutes.  Hopefully one day the boys can actually sit and listen to it better :)

Conference was especially awesome this time around because of the change in missionary age (now 18 for boys and 19 for girls).  Becca is already planning on sending in papers this Spring.  We are so excited for her!

And Conference means lots of family time too which we love.  My parents always take us out to eat between sessions on Saturday and on Sunday we always enjoy a brunch of omelets and cinnamon rolls up the canyon.  I wish I had more pictures of our fun weekend but this is the only one I got.  But it's a good one because it is with our boys and my two cousins Christine and Johnny who always entertain them at family dinners.
