Easter 2013

We had a great Easter this year. The boys are at ages where they finally understand why we celebrate Easter.  We spent the week before Easter discussing the Atonement and Resurrection with them (in terms understandable for a 3 and 4-year-old) and watching some of the new church videos about Christ, and reading books about the Easter Story.  It was really neat seeing the boys grasp the real meaning of Easter.  We've talked about it with them before but I think they really "got it" this year and it made this Easter really special.

But of course, we did celebrate the more "frivolous" part of Easter too.  We decorated sugar cookies, made a little springtime craft, and on the Saturday before Easter we attended Cosmo's Easter Egg hunt.  And so did lots and lots of other people!  Even though it was super crowded, the kids loved it. Becca, Aaron, Samantha, and their kids met us there too.  The Easter egg hunt itself lasted about 2 minutes and was a little chaotic but the kids had fun so it was worth braving the crowd.
After the egg hunt, we headed over to the stadium to watch a football scrimmage.  We're already getting excited for football this fall!
On Sunday, we enjoyed a wonderful day at church.  Then we got to spend the day with family which is always the best way to celebrate holidays!
