mother's day 2013

Mother's day was wonderful this year.  My family sure spoiled me and helped me feel loved.  The entire week, Aiden kept whispering ideas to Nate about presents to get me.  It was so cute to see him excited about surprising me.  Nate sure made me happy with the diaper bag I have been eyeing and a whole lot of sweets (including cupcakes and cake bites from the SweetTooth Fairy and a large grasshopper shake from JCWs).  He sure knows the way to his pregnant wife's heart is through her stomach!
In nursery on Sunday, Brennan made me the cutest little page with his two handprints on it and this poem:
"Sometimes you get discouraged
Because I am so small,
And always leave my fingerprints
On furniture and walls.
But everyday I'm growing,
I'll be grown up someday,
And all these tiny handprints
Will simply fade away.
So here's a set of handprints
Just so you can recall,
Exactly how my fingers looked
When I was very small."

I'm sure it's the pregnancy hormones kicking in, but this poem almost made me cry and it made me realize how much I will miss their messes and little handprints one day! This stage of life really is the best.  I love getting to hang out with them each day and watching them learn and enjoy all the little things in life.  I'm so grateful to be their mom!
And I'm so grateful for my own amazing mom and all she does for us.  She is such a wonderful grandma and loves my boys as much as Nate and I do!  And I'm so grateful for my wonderful mother-in-law and all she does too.  She sure did a great job raising Nate and I hope Aiden and Brennan turn out to be just like their daddy!
