swim lessons

Nate and I feel strongly about our boys learning to swim well so this summer we had a girl named Sara teach them private swim lessons. Even though Aiden has swam a lot in his little lifetime, he can still be ultra-cautious about the water.  He was a little nervous about taking private lessons (he thought they would throw him in the deep end and make him swim back to the side) but he did awesome!  In the two weeks he did lessons, he went from a preschool level to a level 2.  Now he is jumping off the side of the pool, doing back and front floats (his front float is awesome!), going under water to get rings, and doing some basic strokes.  It is so fun to watch him in the water.  Their teacher, Sara, was even amazed how far Aiden came!  Private lessons were perfect for him because he likes to please :)

Brennan on the other hand is pretty fearless in the water (like most things in life) but he wasn't a big fan of the one-on-one attention.  He wanted to just play in the water instead of listen.  So the first few lessons were a little rough.  So after a few days, Sara suggested we do a semi-private lesson with both him and Aiden and then Brennan did great after that!  Brennan is used to being with Aiden so he felt more comfortable right by his side.  And by the end of the two weeks, he learned a lot too!  He learned how to control his body better in the water and do a front float, go underwater to get rings, and to hold his breath for a long time.

I am so proud of my boys! I am sure we will be doing swim lessons again in a few months so these boys can get even better.  And we will definitely have Sara teach them again cause she helped them learn so much!

Oh my goodness is that Sarah Ross from your ward? She and I were good friends in high school, you'll have to tell her hello and that I hope she is well!
