conference weekend

I love Conference weekend! I love listening to our inspired leaders and learning how to be a better wife, mother, and person.  Aiden was especially excited about Conference this time around too!  I prepared some fun Conference packets and activity pages for them and they loved doing them.  It kept them entertained for a big chunk of Conference.  Legos also helped keep them occupied.  I loved spending all weekend as a family listening to our leaders! This year was especially fun because my mom sang with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir in the Saturday morning session!  She wasn't shown on tv but the boys sure had fun trying to find her on the screen.
We went out to eat at Pizza Pie Cafe with my parents and Steve like usual.  I love this tradition!
Aiden and Brennan both ate more than me!  We like pizza around here...what can we say?!
Instead of smiling for the picture, Brennan wanted to show me "see-food." Gross, I know.
Between sessions on Sunday, we drove up to Salt Lake to drop of Zoe's birthday present.  Randomly on the way up, Nate noticed that the car next to us on the freeway was smoking.  So Nate signaled to them and pulled off to the side of the freeway with them.  It turns out their car overheated and their engine was all messed up...so Nate spent the afternoon helping them figure out what was wrong, call the tow truck, and then we drove them around town - first to the repair shop and then to drop them at Conference...because that is where they were headed originally.   The kids and I stayed in the car while Nate helped these people figure out what to do next, so to pass the time we pulled out my phone to snap some pictures.
Even though it was not the Sunday we had planned, it turned out just great.  The guy and his fiance and his mom were super friendly and it was fun to hear about their cute proposal and wedding plans. I'm so glad Nate noticed their car was having issues so we could help out...and that he was willing to spend his afternoon troubleshooting what was wrong with their car and also willing to have us drive them around. He is always helpful like that. He didn't even blink an eye to help these random people out...even though it wasn't the most convenient thing.  He is such a great example to our kids (and me) and I love that! We finally got to drop of Zoe's gift and then we listened to Conference on the way home.  What a wonderful weekend!
