Aiden turns EIGHT!

I have an 8-year-old?!  Eight is a BIG milestone and it's hard to believe our oldest has hit it.  We are SO blessed to have Aiden in our family!  He is happy and helpful and obedient and silly and smart and friendly and an all around good kid!  Here are a few things about Aiden at 8-years-old that I don't want to forget:

- He loves sports - both watching and playing.  He had a great season playing baseball and he's excited to start flag football in the fall.  He especially loves BYU sports and Lebron James (thanks to Uncle Steve)
- He has been playing the piano for nearly a year and he is a great little piano player already!  He likes practicing and especially loves when Grandma has him play songs like Star Wars and church songs.
- He is a great little helper for me.  I'm so busy with 4 kids now that Aiden is often the first to help get me a diaper or to help load the car if we're going on an outing or help tidy up the house.  He loves to make others happy and he knows I get so happy when he is helpful :)
- He just started cub scouts and is SO excited to be a scout!  He loved day camp and he loved his first hike with his troop.  I hope this optimism about scouts continues!
- He is excited about life and loves to plan for the future.  He often asks me how many more days til a certain trip and he wants to know the schedule for the week.  He must have inherited that organizational obsession trait from me :)
- He is obsessed with Star Wars (thanks to my parents for introducing him to it).  All the kids his age are into Star Wars and I love that he's so passionate about it. And he's obsessed with Legos.  For Christmas he got a Lego table and he plays it every day.  Best present ever because it's the gift that keeps on giving (i.e. entertaining him every day)
- He loves playing outside - riding scooters, playing in the dirt, riding his bike, playing on the tramp, playing kickball and basketball.  I love that he is so active.  We don't have video games and my kids never play on the computer or tablet really.  It's great.
- He knows so much about the gospel and scriptures already.  He is like a sponge.  He loves to choose the right and be a good boy. I am so grateful he is our oldest because he is such a good example to his little siblings.  He is definitely ready to be baptized soon!
