February 2019

February was still pretty cold but there was a couple days of sunshine that gave us a glimpse of spring ahead! We made sure to play outside to soak up a little vitamin D.
We had a Superbowl party at the Brewers with lots of food and face paint. It was Justin's birthday the same day so we celebrated with some cheesecake too.
Callie and I went to THE cutest Valentine's day mommy/daughter outing.  We did some fun Valentine's day crafts, learned proper manners, had a tea party, and decorated sugar cookies.  It was such a fun way to spend some quality time with Callie.  She's such a joy and is so loving and sweet and I wish she'd stay this age forever!
Callie's friend Kali and her mom Katie went too and we had fun spending time with them as well.
On actual Valentine's day I got to help with Callie and Aiden's class parties.  For Callie's party we did a cute love bug craft and for Aiden's party we did some games (using chopsticks to stack conversation hearts and sucking up hearts with straws).
These guys were my cute little helpers :)
After school we put together the cutest little V-day gingerbread houses.  My mom gave the kids each a little kit of their own.  They spent a couple hours working on them and they were a hit!  I think it should be a new Valentine tradition.
And I had to made my favorite sugar cookie recipe that day too.
On a whim we decided to go to Colorado to visit G&G Tadje over President's day and I'm so glad we did! It was so nice to spend some quality time with them! Dave has lost a lot of strength and is now in an assisted living center.  He is continually getting infections and it takes a long time to recover.  We loved spending time with both of them and miss living so close. Graham took a big liking to both grandma and grandpa which was fun to see them interact.
Graham also fell in love with Nate & Carolyn's dog Snickers (who he calls Stickers).  He even came home and named his stuffed dog Stickers.  We may need a dog one day for this animal loving boy!
Snickers loved Graham back!
Dave was pretty sick the first day we visited but the second day he was doing better and we had fun playing some games together and hanging out all afternoon and evening.
Grandpa and Grandma even played the Wii with us!
Another big plus of visiting G&G Tadje is getting to visit the Johnstons!  We had lots of fun with them too and the cousins got along so well!
Nate and the boys continued to ski a lot...until Nate torn his MCL! He did a jump and landed wrong and completely tore his MCL.  He was in a lot of pain for a while but he seems to be getting better so we hope so! Because of his injury, Nate and the boys weren't able to do any spring skiing but hopefully he's completely better for next year!
Brennan got his birthday gift from grandma early - a Donovan Mitchell shirt.  Perfect gift for our JAZZ loving boy! He's worn it multiple times a week since he first got it.
I failed to get a picture of Aiden at one of his basketball games but I did remember to get one at Brennan's last one! Brennan's team had an awesome season and was undefeated!  He practices basketball every day (sometimes hours) and he did a lot to help his team go undefeated.  Aiden had a great season too.  Nate was his coach and they won about half of their games.  Basketball is my favorite sport to watch and especially when Nate or my boys are playing!
And no reason for this picture other than his smile kills me! He's such a joy and I love having him be my little buddy all day every day!
