Florida! (The beginning)

We have been anticipating and counting down to our Florida trip for a LONG time and we were so happy to finally go! With Covid in full swing, we didn't know if this trip would really come to pass. When we booked it back in April, Florida and all the parks and beaches were shut down. But we got killer deals on airfare and an amazing resort so we waited and hoped and prayed Florida would open back up. And it did!  It was defintely a different trip with masks in public areas and social distancing but we got used to it really fast. And with fewer crowds and people it actually made the trip and parks better than normal.

The kids have never been so excited to wake up at 6am :)  This was Graham's first time on an airplane and he was so excited. We bought each of the kids their own luggage and they were so excited to have their own suitcases and bags too.
Aiden and Brennan made us these fun travel packets with word searches and mazes and games for our plane ride.  This was one of Brennan's pages...he is so clever!
The kids loved watching the planes up close at the airport.
We brought Nate's old game boy along to play with and it was a hit! We took turns between the tablet and games and Tetris on the game boy.
Our layover was in Phoenix on the way there and Dallas Love Field on the way back.
We arrived in Orlando in the evening to the most beautiful sunset.  We were supposed to rent a van but Nate upgraded us to a Suburban so he could try to convince me to drive one someday. And we really liked driving it around all week! He's getting closer to convincing me :)
Just like our last trip to Florida, we ate at IHOP once we arrived. We sat outside in the beautiful warm weather and were so happy to finally be there.
And then we drove to our resort for the week! We stayed at the Grove Resort in Orlando and we loved it! We chose to stay there for the condo type feel of the room and especially because there was a water park at the resort! The pool and water park were a HUGE hit of our trip and the kids loved swimming any spare second we had. There were multiple pools, water slides, a splash pad, and tons of pool space. It was amazing.
Our first full day there we spent a ton of time swimming and enjoying the pools.  Aiden and Brennan brought a little ball and I am not exaggerating to say they spent literally the entire day throwing the ball back and forth - playing Flies up and Monkey in the Middle.  Callie and Graham loved the lazy river and jumping in off the side of the pool. During the trip, we swam nearly every day and never tired of it. And a big highlight of all of the swimming was watching Graham learn to swim without floaties on!  He is a fish and has always loved water and it was so amazing watching him be fearless and confident in the water. Yay for having all my kiddos swim on their own!
You can see the boys throwing that little red ball back and forth.  It literally provided hours of entertainment :) A couple of the days the kids even made friends with other kids at the resort and all played together. Callie always made random friends every time we were at the pools.  She is a little socialite for sure.
Poolside snacks were a hit for the kids too :)
Graham's freckles really popped by the end of the trip.
After swimming for 5 hours straight that first day, we headed to Disney Springs to look through some of the fun stores. The Lego Store was a huge hit as was the World of Disney store.  Sadly the NBA store was closed but we got a picture by it anyways. Being there got us super excited to head to Magic Kingdom the next day!
Graham LOVES Hulk so finding the Lego hulk was super exciting for him!
Brennan loves Hulk too.
