December 2020

We started December off with Aiden's choir concert. They had to sing with masks so it was definitely unique but we loved seeing him perform.
Callie's hair is getting redder and redder the older she gets. It's so pretty and I love how unique her hair color is.
I turned 34! Nate and I went on a date (dinner and shopping) for my birthday and then we celebrated at my parent's house the next night with my favorite dessert - cherry cream cheese pie.  Also - I was put in as the new Relief Society President in our ward on my birthday! Quite a memorable birthday ;) It was funny because on my 29th birthday, Nate was put in the bishopric and then 5 years later on my birthday again, I was called as RS president!

Rich and Kamilla and kids moved to a cabin in Oakley. We went one night to eat dinner with them and then let the kids go play on the frozen lake. It was so fun to catch up with them.
My parents give us service money every year at Christmas time. This year we decided to help make meals for the Utah Food and Care Coalition. We made 10 casseroles one Saturday. We made a taco casserole and it was a lot of work to brown the meat, cook rice, and assemble everything but every one in our family was able to help so it was the perfect way for us to serve.
Nate decided to teach Callie how to ski and she caught on so fast and did awesome! Nate's happy to have another skiier in the family :)
The holidays were a little different this year because of Covid so most of our extended family parties were cancelled. But luckily the Santa Claus brunch went on like normal. It's one of our favorite traditions and we loved getting to spend time with cousins and visit with Santa.
After the Santa Claus brunch, Nate convinced me to go up to Salt Lake with him to look at a Chevy/GMC dealer. We had been wanting an SUV for a while - mainly a Suburban - to fit our family comfortably and allow us to finally have a 4 wheel drive car.  With all of the outdoorsy stuff that we do, it was time for a 4 wheel drive car! So we drove to Salt Lake to look around and we quickly fell in love with one there! It was just what we wanted and more. 3 hours later, it was ours!
We picked up the kids after we bought it, drove to my parent's house to show them our new car, and then we all piled in and went to look at Christmas lights. There was an amazing light display in Highland that we went to. The kids especially loved looking at the lights through the sun roof :)
It was sad to see the van go. We had the car for almost 5 years (since right before Graham was born) and we loved it. But it was time for something with 4-wheel drive so it was bittersweet selling it.
Christmas Sunday picture. Nate was lucky enough to be asked to speak Christmas Sunday :) He did a great job!
We watched the BYU Bowl game at Steve's and had a great night. It's been a good year for BYU football and they are fun to watch.
One night we went to the Riverwoods with the Brewers to see the lights and then "candy cane bomb" cars in the parking lot. We were able to visit with Santa (from 6 feet away of course!) and walk through some of the fun shops there.
The Brewers are the best gift givers and they gave us a huge jar full of fruity candy. I think it was Nate's most favorite gift ever :)
Grandma T turned 70 so we had fun celebrating her! We couldn't gather with all of the Tadjes (because it's too large of a group with Covid regulations) but we did have lunch with Diane and Nate's siblings and their spouses which was a great way to celebrate her big birthday.
We loved having Nathan and Danae and family in town for Christmas. Nathan rented out a theater for the entire family to watch Wonder Woman 84. We haven't been the movies a lot lately because of Covid and it felt so good to be back with popcorn and recliner chairs at the theater.
We celebrated Becca's birthday at Tucanos with all of the Curtis family in town!
Nate spent all of his free time during December framing our basement. Aaron helped him learn how to do it and let him borrow all of his tools and Nate worked hard to frame the entire basement. We're just going to finish the basement slowly over time but it feels good to have the first step done!
On New Years Eve day, my parents took the whole family to the American West Heritage Center for a fun sleigh ride, sledding, and hot chocolate. We had a great day enjoying the beautiful winter weather. After we played hard outside, my parents took us to Maddox in Brigham City to eat a yummy dinner. It was a great day!
The kids attempting snow angels was pretty fun to watch :)
New Years Eve night we went to the Brewer's house for games and food and rang in the New Year with them. After all of the political polarization, Covid regulations, and drama that came in 2020, we were happy to ring in the new year!
