July started off with our Tadje family church history road trip. I posted all about it in the previous posts.
When we got back home, we had lots going on in July! I feel like it's always a crazy month!
Nate snuck away to golf as often as he could. He LOVES it! We join him occasionally.
We bought Get Out passes this year and had fun doing all of the activities on it. One of them was this Escape Room. We had a fun time and barely made it out!
Callie's cheer started up and she loved it! Cheer's been such a positive thing for her and she loves being a part of it!
Look how pretty and grown up she is! She is so talented and I love watching her do this sport!
We attended Nate's 20 year high school reunion. It was so fun! We both loved high school! And it's fun because I also went to Lone Peak (just graduated a year later) so we both knew a ton of people there and loved seeing old friends. We went with Jason & Emily and Rich & Kamila. We went to Zupas after with a small group and it was fun to keep catching up and reminiscing about the good 'ole days :) Here's Nate and his two cousins - Rich and Casey - that all graduated from Lone Peak the same year.
Nate and his buddies:
And his two best friends and us wives:
Nate's work has him traveling a lot more. He got to visit Chicago for a few days and loved the city.
I did a few hikes with friends. I love enjoying the outdoors and getting my heart rate up!
Summer nights are the best!! Look at the sky!
We went camping at 12 mile flat with my family. We've camped there before and we love how remote and beautiful this place is! It was our first time having my family camp with us there and we had a great time! We also rented a little pop-up trailer for the first time and that was life-changing! :) Trailer camping is my new favorite way to camp! It was especially nice to have because it rained a lot while we were there so it provided the shelter we needed. Highlights of our camp trip included card games in the trailer, hiking to the hole in the rock, and playing on Brennan's homemade/rustic mini golf course.
Brennan had a little pop-up tent he had gotten for Christmas so he didn't want to sleep in the trailer. I love the little set up he had. He LOVES camping! It was fun to have Steve and Rayane's dogs there. Crazy fact - Luna was pregnant while we were camping and Steve & Rayane had no idea! A couple days later she gave birth to 7 puppies!
All of our Curtis cousins came to town and we packed in a ton of fun things while they were here! One of the days we went to Lagoon which was fun! It had been years since we've been.
After a long, hot afternoon at Lagoon - Nate didn't hesitate to take a nap on the ground ;)
These kids are braver than me! I hate this ride but they were loving it!
All of the cousins did an escape room to celebrate Ava's birthday. They had a really fun time!
Brennan got a new haircut, including some highlights. He's such a handsome kid and growing up so fast!
Callie also got a new haircut and looked so beautiful.
We went swimming at Lifetime Fitness center. It wasn't busy at all so the kids loved having the pool pretty much to themselves.
One of the mornings (in the wee hours of the morning) a big group of the Curtis fam hiked Timp! And boy was it an experience this year! Our group was Andrew & Melanie & kids, Camryn, Steve & Lucas & Savannah, Becca, and our whole family minus Graham. The first part was great! It was cool, dark, and we made good time. But about an hour into it, the older kids wanted to speed ahead and not wait for us and so we all spread out a bit. Callie had horrible shoes to hike in and she really struggled. It was slow and there were many breaks, but she trudged along. We didn't really see Aiden and Brennan the whole time. I spent most of my time hiking with Becca and Camryn. And Nate was SUPER patient and hiked with Callie the whole way and encouraged her every step. And she made it to the Summit which was amazing! Getting down took a while and we were all spread apart. Nate was back with Callie and Becca but had to run ahead to give the key to the teenagers (that were already waiting at the bottom) and then he had to run back up to find Becca and Callie who were struggling on the way down. I went back up with him for about a mile but then I was beat and couldn't do it anymore. So in the end, Nate ended up hiking about 19 miles round trip and I did about 17 miles round trip instead of the 15 miles. It was an exhausting hike and definitely a memorable Timp hike!
The wildflowers were in bloom and it was beautiful!
We met these guys up on the Summit! They were cruising the whole way up! I'm glad we got to see them for a bit.
Brennan and his buddies did a golf camp. They really enjoyed it.
Callie, Graham, Savannah, and Jamies performed a musical program from my grandma Blackham's nursing facility. My mom does a great job putting these cute programs together.
Unpictured: the boys went to a stake young men's camp. Sadly no pictures were taken. But they had a great time!
