summer lovin'

When it rains it pours.  For whatever reason, it seems like bad things always come in threes.  Maybe that is a ridiculous superstition, but it sure seemed to work out that way for us this week.  This week we had the unfortune of…
1.      Nate’s car deciding to break down...leaving us with a hefty bill to fix it. (And sharing one car between the two of us is very difficult!)
2.      Nate’s brand new custom made suit decided to split about 4 inches down the back while he bent over for something.  It is definitely unrepairable.  Guess the “custom made” suit wasn’t so custom after all.  So we had to buy some new work clothes for him leaving us with another hefty bill.
3.    Then I tried cleaning our carpets myself but apparently I shouldn't quit my day job for it because I made them worse than before.  So we had to have some professional cleaners come fix that problem too.

It made it an interesting and expensive week for us unfortunately.  But even though it’s been a little stressful at times, we haven't let it bother us too much because we've been preoccupied enjoying the beautiful weather outside.  I'm so happy it's finally warm enough to swim and enjoy the summer like we should!

This week we’ve spent a lot of time at the pool and the park. The boys love it.  Brennan throws a little tantrum every time I make them come in.

Brennan loves just lounging around after we swim.  He's always so busy and hyper that I love that the pool wears him out for a bit so he'll relax with me.
Aiden begs every day to have a picnic at the park. And I think I like it better than eating indoors too because the mess is outside versus on our kitchen floor.  I'm sure the little bugs love our crumbs too.
Aiden uses his imagination ALL the time these days.  I love seeing him play make-believe. When I went out to ask him what he was doing, he said he was "roasting marshmallows."  I guess a light saber as a roasting stick and a pile of blankets as the fire work just perfect.
We headed over to the Orem Summerfest with our good friends Angie and Rocky last Saturday. The kids loved the parade of course.  In Utah Valley, I'm pretty sure there is a parade almost every Saturday, so I'm sure this isn't the last one we'll go to.
Oh and Aiden was SO excited to see the fire trucks in the parade.  Like he hasn't seen a fire truck in a while...

Hey there! I just saw your blog on Steph's blog list. I love it--I can't believe how big your boys are!! Looks like your family is doing great, though I'm sorry about the car breaking down.

I'm adding you to my blog list so I can keep up-to-date with you guys!

Love you!
