soccer

A few weeks ago Aiden started playing soccer.  The little soccer league is for kids ages 3-5 and is very laid back because there is no goalie and no one keeps score - so it's perfect for little preschoolers playing soccer for the first time.  The games look more like "magnet ball" or "follow the leader" most of the time and the kids are quite funny to watch.  But Aiden loves it. The first couple of games Aiden seemed a little intimidated because some of the other kids were knocking into each other and being aggressive (which Aiden is not) plus he's so much younger than the majority of the kids there so he was a little out of his comfort zone.  But every game he gets more and more comfortable.  We love cheering him on at his games.  He's had quite a few "fans" (like grandpa and grandma and Nathan and Danae) come watch him play too and he especially loves his fan club.

Three-year-olds are so dang cute.  Aiden sure keeps us smiling while he plays soccer by:
- running around, constantly looking back at us on the sideline to make sure we see his every move
- being so excited to give the other team high fives at the end of the game
- talking to Summer (his coach) about firetrucks and ambulances in the middle of the field - during the middle of the game (he's obsessed)
- and peeing in the bushes because the outhouse is too far away

He's such an adorable little soccer player and we can hardly wait to see him play again tomorrow!

It's so cute to see those little kids running after the ball. I like how you described it as a "magnet" :)
