We stayed at the Caribe Hilton in San Juan and it was incredibly nice!! It had an lobby outside, a private beach, and a beautiful view. If we didn't miss our kids so much, I would have wanted to stay there for another week.
Our first stop in Puerto Rico was to Old San Juan to visit the big forts. The island was fought over for years so it was cool to see these massive forts that the Spanish built to ward off their enemies. The forts covered so much area that we didn't get to see every part of them, but what we did see was really interesting.
We found a little place serving some empanadas to eat at afterwards. This cute old man came to our table to serenade us and it totally made our Puerto Rican experience :)
That afternoon we did some more shopping and then met up with everyone by the beach for dinner. As if we hadn't eaten enough sweets over the last week, we walked through town after dinner and treated ourselves to some frozen yogurt.
Puerto Rico was an amazing island and I hope to go back there again someday. Before we left, we snapped a picture of the Provo office:

We seriously LOVE the people Nate works with and it was so fun getting to hang out with them this trip!
The next morning we hung around the hotel, relaxed in the hammocks on the beach, and packed up to head home. We would have been home late that night but our flight plans didn't turn out like they were supposed to... We flew from San Juan to Charlotte for a 2 hour layover that actually turned into a 4 hour layover before they told us our flight was cancelled. Then they put us up in a hotel (definitely not as nice as the Hilton) for the night where we got 3 hours of sleep before we had to wake up and take a flight to Minneapolis for another long lay over. At this point, I missed our boys like CRAZY and couldn't wait to get home to see them...so hanging out at the airport all day was no fun at all. Our 9 day trip, ended up really becoming a 10 day trip thanks to the airline. But when we eventually got home a day late, we were SO happy to see our little guys again!! Other than the LONG flight home, the trip was amazing and we had such a blast! We've fallen in love with cruising and I hope its not too long until we go on another!
