update on A & B

It's been a while since I've done an update on our kids so I thought I'd take a few minutes and write some stuff down about Aiden at age 4 1/2 and Brennan at age 2 3/4.

First off, I can't believe Aiden is 4 1/2!  When did that happen?  He is so grown up and mature now.  It is so fun seeing him develop into a little man.  Aiden loves learning - it's crazy to see how he soaks in everything around him.  He knows a ton of sight words now and can read a lot of the words in beginner books.  He loves going to preschool and working on his homework.  I hope his love of homework stays all the way through college :)  He also loves coloring and creating stuff.  Most of his drawings consist of fire trucks and buildings burning down but it's fun to see him use his creativity.  Some of his favorite things are going to his CTR 4 class and having family night every Monday night (he doesn't let us forget!)  He loves learning about the gospel and his Primary teachers say he always knows all the answers.  He is such a good kid and he has really helped a lot these last few months when I'm not feeling 100%.  My favorite thing is when he comes into our room in the morning, dressed for the day and says he always cleaned up his room, folded up his blankets, and he is ready for preschool.  He's usually bummed when he has to wait a couple of hours til preschool even begins but it is cute he is so excited for it.

Aiden still loves fire trucks, ambulances, cars, and all things transportation.  Brennan loves it just as much as he does now and it's funny to hear them in the back of the car talking about all the cars and trucks we are passing as we drive around..  Brennan and him play make-believe all the time too.  They are such good buddies and they are so creative together.  Their make-believe is usually one of four things: a BYU basketball game where they are both named Jimmer, a fire rescue mission because something is burning down, both of them going to work to make money, or a candy factory.  It's always entertaining to listen to them play.  Some of Aiden's other favorite things are going out for frozen yogurt, playing basketball at the rec center, wrestling with Nate and Brennan, playing hide and seek, and playing with his friends (especially his best friend Lincoln).

Aiden's going through a phase where he forces his smile for the camera so it's hard to get a picture of him looking like "normal", but here are a couple recent ones:
________________________________________________________________
For being such a little guy, Brennan sure has a big personality.  He is SO full of energy and for only being two, he is sure opinionated!  Like the fact that he is obsessed with BYU and wants to wear his BYU shirt every. single. day.  And when he doesn't get to wear it he sure lets you know he isn't happy. Lately I haven't had the energy to try to coax him into wearing something else, so the BYU shirt usually wins.  But even though he is so spirited at times, he is also SO lovable.  He loves to cuddle and be our little buddy.  He loves to give lots of hugs and kisses.  And he idolizes Nate and copies everything he does.  It's the cutest thing in the world.  He LOVES balls of all sorts - especially basketball. For being two-years-old, he is super coordinated.  He loves playing catch and throwing the ball up in the air and catching it himself.  When we go to the rec center a lot to let the kids shoot baskets, he is in heaven and never wants to leave. He also loves to color, read books, watch Monsters Inc, play on the iPad, play with his cars and trains, play in the snow, jump on our furniture, make waffles and pancakes with Nate in the morning, and play with Aiden.

And the big Brennan news lately is that he is POTTY TRAINED!  We started the potty-training about two weeks ago and he had a few accidents his first few days but he's got it down now! I am seriously so impressed with how fast he picked it up.  Both kids have been pretty easy to potty train and I'm so grateful for that.  And it will be so nice to have the next few months (before baby's arrival) diaper free!

One more thing about Brennan - his sleeping habits are pretty funny so they are worth documenting.  We always find him in weird positions, holding random toys, and wearing random clothes he dressed himself in while we thought he was sleeping (like his snow clothes with boots and all).  Every night seems to bring a new picture-worthy position.  Here are a few of our favorites:
Nate and I sure love these two boys of ours!!
