This part month was A LOT of fun but also SUPER busy! I love December for so many reasons. We did a lot and I don't want to forget any of it so this post is going to be really long.
We started the month off with two company parties, my birthday, a Relief Society activity I had to present at, each of us getting sick, and then getting better just in time for all the Christmas fun. Here are a lot of pictures from this past month:
{BYU Game}
We got to go to a BYU game when Andrew, Melanie, and Jackson came to town and the kids even got to meet Cosmo! This time Brennan wasn't scared of him and both boys went right up and gave him a hug. Highlight of their life :)
{Build-A-Bear Date with Grandma and Grandpa}
My parents took the five grandkids out to McDonalds and then to Build-a-Bear to each pick out an animal they wanted for Christmas. The kids were in heaven. Aiden came home with a blue bear in a fireman outfit (no surprise) and Brennan came home with an doggie with an NBA outfit on (no surprise again). Thanks grandpa and grandma for the fun outing with the kids!
{Santa Claus Breakfast}
We did the Santa breakfast at Thanksgiving Point again this year. It is such a fun tradition and the kids especially love meeting Buddy the Elf, the Coca Cola Bear, Mrs. Claus, and of course Santa! After we ate breakfast this year, the kids got balloon animals, got to decorate cookies, and then sit on Santa's lap.
{Extended Curtis Family Party}
That night we went up to David & Deanne's house for a Christmas party for the Curtis side of the family. Last Christmas was my grandma's last so it was different not having her there and we missed her, but we still had a good time eating, visiting, doing a gift exchange, and competing in. a puzzle contest.
{Curtis Family "Talent" Night}
The next night Brennan and I (poor Aiden was sick so Nate stayed home with him) went over to my parents for dinner, a nativity, a gift opening game, and sharing our family service opportunities from the past year.
And I have yet to mention the exciting Curtis family news - not only will Nate and I welcome a new baby in 2013, so will my two sister-in-laws Melanie and Danae! Oh, and they are due the same day...just six weeks after me. It will be so fun to have another batch of cousins. So here's a pic of all the pregos:
{Christmas Eve}
We spent Christmas Eve afternoon at with the Blackhams eating Chinese food (another tradition I love). We made sure not to eat to much cause that night we headed over to the Tadje's house for our Christmas Eve celebration of some delicious ham, yummies, jello, and rolls. Then the kids got to "fish" for presents before opening up their "warm and fuzzies".
{Christmas Day}
We began Christmas morning at our house like always. Aiden asked for fire truck legos and a Wonka bar this year and Brennan asked for motorcycle policeman legos and a Wonka bar too and Santa didn't disappoint! They were beyond excited. The boys also got some new board games, books, activity books, a t-ball set, a football, a R/C helicopter and some other fun toys.
After being at our house for the morning, we headed to my parents first, then Nate's parents, and then finished the night off at my grandma Blackham's house in Salt Lake. It was a wonderful day and we were so blessed to be able to spend it with family. But we sure were exhausted by the end of the day!
{Other Highlights from Christmas Break}
-Decorating Christmas sugar cookies with the Tadje family
-eating at Cheesecake Factory with Nate's parents and siblings to celebrate Diane's birthday
-seeing Les Miserables
-our anniversary date at La Jolla Groves
-and someone doing 12 Days of Christmas for our family - giving us a beautiful puppet from the nativity and a scripture to go along with it each night. We don't know who the mystery person(s) is but thank you so much! You really helped our family get in the Christmas spirit this year.
