Aiden turned the big FIVE last week! I cannot believe he has been part of our family for five whole years now. Time goes by so fast! He brings so much happiness into our home. He is (usually) such an obedient and sweet kid. Brennan and him are the best buddies and they spend their days riding bikes, playing make-believe, and running around. Aiden LOVES to learn and he is more than ready for Kindergarten! He impresses us all the time with the stuff he knows. He can read quite a few words now and he loves to do pages in his kindergarten workbooks. He also loves spending time outside - either playing in the sprinklers, riding bikes and scooters, or running around in the backyard. He is such a good boy and reminds us each night to do family scripture study and prayers. And he gets SO excited for family night every Monday night. He has even started planning the lessons and it is so cute to see him get so excited to learn about the gospel. I feel so blessed to have him as a part of our family!!
Since his birthday was only a few days after Callie was born, we decided to keep his actual birthday pretty simple (and maybe I'll get the energy to do a friends party later this summer). We invited both sets of grandparents over for a BBQ and some cake and ice cream. This year for his birthday Aiden got a new scooter, some construction legos, books, and a BYU jersey. Thanks Mom & Dad and Dave & Diane for celebrating Aiden's special day with us!
Also, as always, I made the cake of his choice. He wanted me to make him a construction cake this year and luckily it was really easy to put together (because I was not up for a huge project just a few days after having Callie).
