Idaho Trip

Last week we headed up to Idaho for a little getaway.  The first couple of days we stayed at Jared & Trina's cabin up at Tamarack Resort.  It was so fun to stay in their beautiful cabin nestled in those Idaho mountains.  We went up with Aaron & Samantha & their kids and had a great time with them of course.  Aiden and Brennan are such good buddies with Lydia & McKay and they were in heaven getting to spend so much time with them.

 We spent a lot of time at Lake Cascade.  The kids played in the sand, swam, floated around on a little raft, and Nate and Aaron even tried teaching Aiden and Lydia how to water-ski in the shallow end (and the kids did pretty good learning to ski for the first time!)

 One of the days we went shotgun shooting.  It was my first time ever shooting a gun!  It's definitely not my type of thing but it was fun trying it out!

The times we just hung around the cabin were fun too.  The four oldest kids would entertain themselves in the basement with toys, movies, play-dough, and whatever else they could find and the adults (and babies) got to hang out upstairs.  It felt good to have time to relax!  That doesn't happen too often these days :)

 Callie was an angel the entire trip!  I was a little unsure how she would do traveling around and being outside a lot but she did awesome.  So glad she is such a sweet baby!

 We also tried a little hike.  With two five-year-olds, two three-year-olds, a one-year-old and a newborn...the hike didn't last too long at all.  But we did get to enjoy the pretty view!

  Then on Saturday morning we headed to Boise to see our nephew Will get baptized.  After the baptism we all went to a yummy pizzeria in downtown Eagle and then to Jared & Trina's house to hang out (and the kids got to enjoy a blow-up pool and a slip-n-slide). And then on Sunday our new niece Lily was blessed.  Jared & Trina just adopted her from China and it was fun to get to know her a little better over the weekend.

 It was such a great trip and I am so happy we got to take a break from everyday life and spend time with our awesome family!
