Aiden went to his first day of Kindergarten today! I feel like just yesterday he was my little toddler obsessed with fire trucks and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and now it feels like he is so grown up! He has been looking forward to going for a LONG time. If anyone is ready for Kindergarten, he is. He loves learning and he loves making new friends so Kindergarten is the perfect place for him.
When he woke up this morning, he immediately got his new outfit on for school, with his school shoes and his new backpack and he was all set to go. Then I reminded him that he is in the afternoon session and it didn't start until 12:35...so he spent all morning watching the clock, ready to go to school. Before he went to school, we made funny face pancakes to celebrate his first day. The boys enjoyed LOTS of whipped cream and were quite creative with their faces.
Finally, it was time to go. We are lucky to live just a couple blocks from the school so we walked there (Aiden rode his scooter and Brennan rode his bike). His teacher this year is Mrs. Crockett and we have only heard wonderful things about her!
He was so excited to see his name tag on his desk and get settled into his classroom. He was so adorable sitting at his desk ready to learn! I got a little teary-eyed when I left with just Brennan and Callie (I'll blame it on the post-pregnancy hormones) because I will miss my little buddy every day when he is at school. But I know Aiden will love it and I'm looking forward to watching him learn and grow this year!
