We recently got back from an amazing vacation in Pagosa Springs, Colorado. My parents were so nice to invite us to go along with them on their vacation this year. Pagosa is beautiful and we had such a great time there! We spent time playing mini golf, swimming, sitting in the hot tub, going on bike rides, hiking, playing games, reading, and just hanging out together. It was soooo nice to be together as a family with no distractions or other responsibilities. I wish every day was a vacation!
While Callie was riding up on Nate's shoulders, we thought she was leaning down to give Nate a kiss but she leaned down and bit his ear! I'm so glad I caught that moment on camera!
One night we hiked around the Continental Divide for a little while until Brennan got stung by a bee! Poor kid. It was interesting hiking up there because a lot of the trees were dead due to some strange bug attacking the trees with a virus. And it was a little cold while we hiked. But we still had a good time.
On the way back to the condo, we hiked another little trail to Treasure Falls. It was getting dark at that point so it was pretty fast but we had enough time for a picture at the top.
Nate also gave the boys a nice little lesson in skipping rocks. The view on that lake was breath-taking so of course I snapped some pictures.
One of the nights we went to a fun BBQ dinner called "Astraddle A Saddle". We took a hay ride to an old cabin and ate a delicious meal there up there. And after dinner, we sat around the campfire while the kids roasted marshmallows and then we sang some camp fire songs. It was a fun evening! The boys especially loved singing the songs and playing with some fun percussion instruments.
Another day we drove for about 45 minutes through the Colorado wilderness to go on another hike to Piedra Falls. It was beautiful! Once we got to the top, the kids played in the water, threw rocks, and climbed around on the big rocks. We could have stayed there all day with the amount of fun we were all having.
Thanks for the fun trip mom and dad!!
