Mother's Day 2015

Nate and the boys spoiled me rotten this Mother's Day.  Brennan made me a cute card and bookmark in preschool and Aiden made me a bracelet and card in his class.  And Nate and the boys also bought me all my favorite candy, a Visa gift card, and made me some "Boys Bucks" which are coupons I can use whenever I want.  Plus my mom gave me a gift card for a pedicure too so I'm excited to use that.  I definitely felt loved!
After church, we ate lunch and then the boys insisted on doing dishes and cleaning up the kitchen while I relaxed.  I didn't complain about that!  They looked so cute loading the dishwasher and sweeping the kitchen.  They were so excited about serving me and that was the best gift of all.
We were lucky enough to get to spend the day with both my mom and Nate's mom.  We are so blessed to live only 5 minutes from each other them.  I don't know what I'd do without my mom!  She is my best friend. She is always willing to help me out, or talk, or give me advice.  She is probably the busiest person I know (work, MOTAB, etc) but yet she always makes time for us.  And she loves her grandkids and is an amazing grandma too.
We love living close to Nate's mom too!  She is always loving and kind.  She raised 7 kids and did a lot of the work herself.  All of her 7 kids and spouses are hard workers and strong in the church.  She has 39 grandkids and gives each of them love and attention each time she sees them.  She is an amazing woman!
I am so grateful I get to be a mother to these three kids too!  People always say these years when my kids are little are the best years of my life - and they're right!  Nothing beats watching them learn and grow!  Often it's just the little things that make me so overcome with gratitude - like Aiden holding Callie's hand to help her somewhere, or Brennan learning to read, or Callie saying a new little word or phrase.  Those little moments usually bring the most happiness. Being a mother is the best!
