April post

I took LOTS of pictures during April, so be prepared for a really long post!

{Bike riding}
Now that the weather is pretty nice again, that means lots of bike rides!  These boys  are getting so fast so we are able to go further than just Art Dye.  We love going to Highland Glen Park (the duck pond) and all the way to my parent's house too. I am excited for lots of future bike rides this summer.
 {Tulip Festival}
We went to the Tulip Festival at Thanksgiving Point to celebrate my mom's birthday. It was such a beautiful day and we really enjoyed walking all around the gardens with my mom.  It is so nice having a pass to Thanksgiving Point so we can go a lot!
 Brennan isn't a fan of just smiling normal for the camera, as you can tell in the picture below :)
 The kids are always the most fascinated by the huge waterfall at the end.
{Zoo Field Trip}
I got to go with Aiden on his 1st grade field trip to the zoo.  It was a little chilly that day, but we had such a great time.  I'm so glad I got to spend some quality time with just him.  I was the chaperone of his group and it was just him, Paige, and Georgia so it was pretty low key all day. I'm so grateful Samantha was willing to watch the other kids so I could go!
Aiden loves his new glasses and didn't want to take the off the entire day...as you will see in all the pictures :)
{Battlecreek Falls Hike}
For family night one night, we hiked to Battlecreek Falls.  The kids are at such perfect ages for little hikes like this (especially b/c we can strap Callie into the backpack). We love the outdoors and I'm sure we'll do lots of hikes this summer.
 I carried Callie down the mountain and she is so heavy now!  My knees did not like carrying an extra 30 pounds around. I'll leave that to Nate next time.
Nate and the boys love trying to skip rocks on the water.
 {Rayane, Lucas, and Savannah FINALLY made it to the USA!}
Steve had been separated from his family for over a year, trying to immigrate them to the US.  It was SUCH a long, expensive process and we were unsure if they were ever going to make it.  After a lot of heartache, stress, and tears, they were finally approved to come up here!  It was such a wonderful day to meet them at the airport and welcome them here.  Steve is so happy to be reunited with them again.  And Aiden and Brennan are so excited their cousin Lucas is here.  They can't communicate much yet (Lucas only speaks Portuguese) but I'm sure he'll pick up the language fast and they will become great friends.  And it has been so fun seeing Savannah and Callie play.  They are only a few months apart.  We are so excited to have them close!
 Lucas really wanted to ride home with us from the airport.  We were all a little apprehensive because he only speaks Portuguese and we only speak English (obviously) so we thought he might be bored.  But the boys all had a great time in the back - thanks to Nate's phone! Angry Birds to the rescue!
Callie loves Rayane!  Her and Savannah will be such good buddies!
{More April pics}
I LOVE my girlfriends in my ward and neighborhood here.  I really lucked out.  We had a fun night at the Women's Expo and then dessert afterwards together:
 Activity days outing to the Museum of Art at BYU:
 Callie always trying on people's shoes.  I LOVE her age!
 BBQ with Brewers and Aaron & Samantha's family.  We love having them all live right on our street! These kids are all the best of friends:
 Shorter hair cut thanks to Kara:
 The kids had been begging to go to the "Healthy Store" aka Good Earth because they love these carts so one night Nate and I took them.  They were all over the place with these carts and we made quite the scene.  But they had lots of fun so it was worth it, right??
 Nate got his new road bike!  He had it custom built for his 30th b-day present (even though his birthday isn't until the summer).  He is in love with it and goes out on long rides a few times a week.  He is one happy guy:
 Random pics of Nate and Brennan playing aerobie:
 They play all the time and I never document it so I thought I should. Both boys are SO good at it and it's amazing to watch them play with Nate.
 This is a horrible picture from my phone, but I had to post about Brennan's preschool animal report.  He memorized a little report on Penguins and did it in front of his class. He did awesome!  He is so ready for Kindergarten next year!
 Aiden also did an animal report in 1st grade.  He did his on elephants of course and he did awesome!  He researched elephants at the library and online and worked so hard to make his report amazing. Aiden is a lot like me in loving school and always wanting to do his best.  I was so proud of my little boys giving their reports.
Nate and I had a random date one night.  We were too late to make it to the movie we were supposed to go to, so instead we pulled through Swig for some treats and decided to pull over and watch a couple episodes of Chuck while we ate our food.  Best, low-key date yet!
 Becca slept over one night too and introduced me to the funniest, weirdest new show on Netflix: The Unbreakable Kimmie Schmidt.  We stayed up late laughing our heads off at this show.  Thank you Becca for introducing me!
Just some cute pictures of these two little buddies.  They love each other so much and I love seeing them play together:
Brennan has started soccer and is doing amazing.  He has some crazy natural athletic ability and he is so fun to watch.  We make good cheerleaders on the sidelines.
We went to the Tulip Festival again with some more friends in our ward. Once again, I love our friends here in American Fork and that they are always up for doing fun activities.
Callie and Berkeley weren't the most cooperative little toddlers in taking pictures, but they still looked so cute.
Last but not least, I had to post this picture because it was so sweet.  My dad is awesome with the grandkids and even Callie (who is scared of all men except Nate!) isn't scared of him at all!
