We headed to St. George for Memorial Day weekend for a little vacation with the Brewers. The kids (and adults!) were very excited for some quality family and friend time. The kids were awesome little travelers and were great the entire car ride down.
The weather wasn't quite as warm as we were hoping but it was still warmer than home so we didn't complain. We rented a 3 bedroom condo at Las Palmas for the weekend that both the Brewers and us could stay in all together. The condo was perfect for us and we had a blast spending time with them all weekend long.
We got there in the afternoon and after unpacking and settling into the condo, we were all exhausted. We went out to eat at Costa Vida and then put the kids down for the night. Putting the kids to sleep all in the same room (except Callie) was not the best decision because the kids kept laughing and talking WAY past their bedtime. So after the first night, we decided to put them to sleep in different rooms so they could go to bed easier. Once the kids finally settled down, us adults stayed up late talking and playing the marble game - our favorite game to play with them.
The next day was a little overcast at first so we headed to the Children's museum for the morning. The children's museum was awesome and our kids loved it! It was really busy but they still had a good time. Callie and Brennan's favorite was definitely the pretend grocery store. I think I need to get Callie a little shopping cart and some fake food cause she was in heaven!
Wheelchair basketball was awesome too...except there were only two wheelchairs and lots of kids wanting them...
It finally warmed up that day so we could get some sun! We headed to the splash pad first and the kids loved splashing around in the water.
I was taking pics of all the kids playing and when I told Callie to say "cheese", she was such a little ham! I love her big cheesy grin!
After the splash pad we ate some custard at Nielsen's Custard. It was so creamy and yummy!
And then we headed back to the condo for more swimming.
That night we ate out at Iggy's, put the kids to bed as soon as dinner was over, and we watched our favorite movie, "Just Go With It."
On Sunday, we went to sacrament meeting and then walked around the beautiful St. George temple and visitor's center. It was a perfect Sunday activity.
After the temple, we drove up above the temple to do some hiking. First we all climbed through the Red Crack and no one got stuck ;) The Brewers call it the "Short and Scary Hike" and that is a perfect name for it.
Callie is tiny enough she climbed right up without any problem at all.
After we made it to the top, we climbed all over exploring those huge boulders. The kids were fearless and it made me a little nervous they would fall off some huge cliff but luckily they managed to do okay!
After hiking, we headed back to the pool for some more fun. The kids took turns jumping of the diving board and even Callie took her turn! Nate didn't even help her jump off...she was brave enough to do it herself.
It got a little cold outside so we headed to the indoor pool and hot tub and spent most of the day in there.
That night we did some fun Minute-To-Win-It games with the kids and they were a hit. The kids had to balance blocks on a popsicle stick in their mouth, they had to transfer cotton balls from one plate to another with just their nose and some vaseline, and they had to move an Oreo from their forehead to their mouths without using their hands. We got some good laughs during those games. Then once again when the kids were in bed, we played some games with Justin and Alison. We love our game nights!
On Monday, we packed up and headed to Fiesta Fun Center on our way out of town. We did some arcades and rode the go karts before loading up in the car and heading back home.
These mirrors got us laughing pretty hard because they made us look so short and tiny and distorted!
What a great weekend! The kids are already planning the next trip down to St. George with the Brewers! :)
