How is this sweet girl of ours TWO already?! She has the sweetest, funnest little personality. Not to mention, her smile and tiny little freckles are probably the cutest ever! :) She really is my little bud all day every day and I can't imagine our family without her. Her age is probably my favorite so far because she is constantly learning new things each day. Here are some little tidbits about Callie at age two:
- She LOVES babies! Baby dolls and real life babies. Her pink baby doll is her favorite. She sleeps with her, pretends to read her stories, rocks her, talks to her, and acts like a mini mommy. It is so sweet to see her be so loving to her little dolls! And she LOVES real babies - especially baby Claire.
- She loves all the girly things - her tea set, her doll house, her baby dolls, trying on shoes, playing dress-up, etc...but she isn't afraid to run around with the boys. She jumps on the tramp crazy, runs wild a lot of the time, and loves to copy the boys playing basketball and other sports.
- She loves giving hugs and kisses. Before bed each night, she makes sure to give each of us a hug and kiss. She gives the tightest hugs with her little arms and we all love how loving she is.
- She has become such a chatterbox! A few months ago, I was concerned she wasn't talking a ton but all of the sudden her talking took off and now she doesn't stop talking! She copies everything we say and the boys especially love to tell her funny things to say. She also knows all of our family and friends and neighbor's names and loves to say their names and list who is in whose family. Her little voice is so cute.
- She is a little OCD. She is a lot like me and doesn't even know it yet :) When she sees trash, she says, "Ought oh, garbage?" and immediately picks it up and throws it in the nearest trash can.
- She loves to be rocked and sung to before bed time. It's our special time together and I hope she never outgrows it! (Although I know she will!) She is OCD at bedtime and needs her favorite pink baby, her sippy cup with water, her three favorite blankets, and her purple purse. She sleeps like a champ when all of those things line up right.
- When I start singing songs to her, she changes her mind about what song she wants me to sing. If I start singing "Popcorn Popping" she says "No, Beam!" So then if I sing "Jesus Wants Me For A Sunbeam" for a second, she changes her mind and says "I" for "I Am A Child of God." She can be quite indecisive with songs.
- Callie loves to be outside - on the tramp, riding around in her car or on her trike, blowing bubbles, writing with chalk, etc.
- She is a little socialite. She loves making new friends and she isn't scared to venture out and meet new people. Some of the boys' friends (like Paige, Meg, and Abby) come over just to play with Callie. She loves her aunts and grandmas and grandpas too...especially Rayane and Becca and Samantha.
- The 10 and 11-year-old girls in my activity day group LOVE her. They all beg to come babysit her. So I let a few of them come watch Callie while I'm home so I can get things done. Callie loves those girls.
- Callie has endless energy and spunk! She may just be two, but she tries to keep up with her big brothers and she doesn't let anything stop her. She can be a little intense because of it but it will be a good trait to have one day :)
- She loves to be independent with certain things (like putting on her shoes and feeding herself) but she is still a very big mama's girl. She is my little buddy all day every day.
- She loves when her daddy gets home from work. She always gives him a huge hug and kiss. And when she hears the garage open, she gets so excited yelling for "daddy" and running to the garage door.
- A few more random facts: She loves animals (but only from a distance). She loves looking for buses and planes and big trucks. She loves reading books. She loves organizing. She loves going on walks. She loves nursery. And she loves candy!
We did a little improptu photo session with my phone and the pictures turned out so cute! I love her little smile!
