camping at Granite Flats

Camping is one of our favorite summer activities.  Luckily, the Brewers love camping too so we have the perfect camping buddies.  We stayed up at Granite Flats for two nights and loved exploring that part of the canyon.  We spent our time playing games, running around in the field, eating camping staples (like tin foils and smores), having marshmallow gun wars, having fun with sling shots, exploring Silver Lake (that has been drained for the summer), laying in the hammock, riding on Nate's bike, and enjoying the outdoors.  Aaron and Samantha and kids came up for a few hours one of the nights too so it was fun to have them around.  The only thing that could have made the camping trip better is if Callie would have slept better.  The first night she fell asleep for about 5 minutes, and then woke up disoriented and cranky and would not go back to sleep or settle down for hours.  Nate finally had to take her home around midnight and sleep with her at our house. Luckily the second night she slept great, but that first night was rough!  Hopefully she doesn't do that when we go camping later this summer. But other than that, it was a great camping trip and we had a blast.
