We headed to St. George for Labor day weekend this year. And it ended up being one of our most favorite trips ever! We went with the Brewers and Aaron & Samantha's fam and we had a blast. We went down Thursday night with just the Brewers and stayed at a hotel (because we couldn't check into our airbnb house until Friday). When we got there we ate at a yummy place and headed to the hotel to settle in and go swimming.
Of course the cart became a jungle gym for Brennan.
Graham went swimming for his first time and he loved it! He didn't mind that the water was colder than bath water. He looked so cute chillin' in his little floatie...even if it was pink.
Aiden is a little fish these days and it's so fun watching him enjoy the water so much. Callie and Brennan love it too but they stick to the shallow end.
Raisin fingers...
We went to the hotel restaurant for breakfast. The kids loved their smiley face pancakes.
After we swam more on Friday morning, we checked out of the hotel and headed to our new house we'd be staying at for the next three days. The kids LOVED that new house...and us adults did too. It was located in Washington and it was a few miles from St. George but it was SO nice! It was so spacious and open and it fit all three families perfectly. There was a Wii that the kids especially loved in the bunk bed room. The rest of Friday we just hung out at the house, went grocery shopping for the weekend, and put the kids to bed early so us parents could stay up late and hang out :) Saturday morning after a yummy breakfast, we woke up and headed to the pool pretty much all day. It was heavenly laying out by the pool, swimming, and watching the kids have the time of their life doing chicken fights and races and hand stand contests and all those fun swimming games kids do.
The husbands were kind enough to let us moms sneak away for a pedicure. It's always nice to be pampered every now and then.
And Saturday night we watched the BYU game once the kids were in bed. All three husbands are huge BYU fans so there was some intense emotion with the end of the game.
On Sunday, we went to church and then visited the temple grounds. The St. George temple is so beautiful and one of my favorites. We walked around the grounds and then went to the visitor center. They have some new videos to watch - some new Meet the Mormons clips and some other videos about missionaries.
I love all these kids and I love that our kids have such good buddies to grow up with!
We went to the splash pad too and the kids loved splashing around.
On Monday morning we were planning to go to Zions but after thinking about how hot and crowded and long it would be, we opted to just hike in St George. We went through the crack...where I was reminded once again how much I dislike tiny spaces. But we survived and I'm sure we'll do it again one day! And then we hiked all over the rocks and got to look out over beautiful St. George.
After getting hot and sweaty hiking around, we stopped at Nielsen's Frozen Custard before heading home.
Our whole crew:
We seriously had the best time and we're already looking forward to going again next year!
