April Happenings

A lot happened in April - including Easter, General Conference, a trip to Moab, and Brennan's baptism - which I have already blogged about.  But here are some other pictures and happenings from the month:
We made a Bunny Butt (bundt) cake at my mom's in preparation for Easter.  Brennan helped decorate the finishing touches on this creative cake and it turned out pretty cute!
Before we headed to Moab, my parents took the kids and I to the zoo for the day and we had a wonderful day!
Brennan was baptized on April 7th.  Nate's mom was nice enough to come into town for his baptism and we had a great time with her! We went to the Jordan River temple open house (which I sadly didn't take any pictures at) and we also went to the gardens at Thanksgiving Point.  We love when she comes into town!
My friend Avery threw a fun "mommy play date" at Coconut Cove and the kids and I went and they had a great time - and I did too because I won the big raffle!  I got a Fawn Design diaper bag, gift cards to get my nails done and go shopping, a cute planner, a cute felt ball banner, and the softest blanket ever.  I rarely win so it was a huge (and exciting) surprise! The kids love playing there so it was a win-win for us all!
My new neighbor Lindsey and I took the kids to Farm Country one day. I love having a pass there and it's the perfect little outing for the kids and me.
The worst thing to happen in April - Brennan cutting a HUGE slit in his finger with his brand new pocket knife.  He knew he shouldn't be playing with it but he grabbed it off the kitchen counter and went outside early before school one morning and starting cutting branches. I was in the shower and luckily Nate hadn't left for work yet when Brennan came in dripping blood from his finger and down playing that it somehow got cut.  He finally admitted to playing with his pocket knife so that was put away until he learns to use it properly!  Nate took him to Instacare and he ended up with four stitches. Nate said he was pretty tough through the entire thing. Right after getting stitches he wanted to go to school to show all his friends what happened...then he was back to playing basketball and soccer and running around with friends later that day too. He doesn't let anything slow him down!
Becca gradated from BYU at the end of April.  We went to her graduation ceremony at the Marriott Center and while we were sitting there Camryn and Danae showed up!  We had no idea they were having a weekend visit from Texas so it was a fun surprise!  The kids loved getting to spend time with Camryn during the ceremony and Danae and I pretty much talked the entire ceremony and it was so fun to catch up!  We wish they lived closer!
Grandpa Cosper also passed away at the end of the month.  Diane told us he didn't have much time to live so our little family went to visit him one last time.  He was just sleeping but it was pretty neat to get to talk about what an amazing man he is and look through some of his scrapbooks.   And we also had a family night on family history and we read some of his personal history. His funeral was a beautiful service.  He was an incredible person - he was a paratrooper in the war, a great dad, a loving and happy man, and the stake patriarch.  Diane came into town again for the funeral and it was a great day celebrating Grandpa Cosper.
After the funeral, Jared & Trina's youngest three - Luke, Lily, and Noah - came over to play and then we all went to Nate's intramural basketball game to cheer him on.  We were quite the sight with so many little kids!
And that's a wrap for April!
