Our Curtis cousins were still in town for the beginning of July and we continued the family fun! We celebrated Lucas' birthday at my parents house with an outdoor movie night.
One evening we hiked the Y and loved getting to watch the sunset. Graham stayed back with my mom and we went with the three other kids and some other members of the Curtis fam.
Nate and the boys and Andrew and Jackson and I kayaked done the Provo river one afternoon. I haven't done that since high school and Nate and the boys had never done it and we had a ton of fun.
We celebreated the 4th at our house with a BBQ and then got to watch the hugest and craziest firework show we've ever seen! We had heard our neighbor Jesse puts on a big firework show but we didn't realize HOW big. It went on for a full hour with huge firework after huge firework. A couple shot out towards our house and it got really scary so the kids and some of the adults finished watching the show from inside. I had a lot of anxiety during the show because I felt like our house could catch fire. I'm usually not overly anxious but after an hour of this show I definitely was. He says next year will be bigger and better and I just felt scared for next year already! :)
We hiked with my mom in Pleasant Grove up the Grove Creek trail to see the huge flag they hang in July. It was really pretty to see the flag hanging high between the mountains and all of the state flags lining the trail.
I went with a few friends in our neighborhood and hiked to Lake Blanche. I had never hiked it before but it was so beautiful! I love finding new awesome hikes!
Since we still haven't gone back to church, we got creative in our home church and went up the canyon one day to do Come Follow Me.
We painted prayer rocks after we learned about prayer and the kids loved it but it was messy! And not as easy as I thought it would be up in the mountains.
Nate and the boys have fallen in love with Monopoly and play any chance they get!
The first of our harvest:
We dog sat the Weight's dog Daisy and loved it! Shes the sweetest dog and my kids doted on her all weekend long! They took her on numerous walks and wanted to give her lots of treats.
The first night Daisy was here the Brewers slept over and she kept the kids up for a lot of the night. We tried to put her to sleep in another room but Daisy wanted to be with the kids so she barked until she could cuddle up on the couch with them. They loved her too but it was not a restful night for any of them!
All of the plants we planted in the spring for the exception of one thrived and it was so nice to see our yard look so much better than when we bought it.
Aiden and Paige did a tennis camp together and they both really liked it. They started meeting up at Willowcreek's tennis courts to play occasionally.
We celebrated the 24th of July at Aaron & Samantha's with all of the Tadjes. We ate a yummy dinner and then watched Swen put on a really fun firework show. His was not as scary and loud and crazy as Jesse's so much more enjoyable for me :)
We went up the canyon with the Curtis fam one day and had a fun day eating and exploring and playing games up there.
Found this gem on my phone...
We met up with some old AF friends and went to Highland Glen one afternoon. The kids loved kayaking and playing in the water and sand. We love getting together with those AF friends and always have a great time!
Graham zonked right out afterwards! The sign of a good summer day - half dressed and drooling and asleep in the car :)
