Idaho Trip

This year we spent an ENTIRE week up at Jared & Trina's cabin and it was amazing!  And it was extra special because Diane came too! She flew up to meet us and we picked her up at the airport on our way to the cabin. We spent the first day at the cabin with just our family and Grandma T before Jared & Trina arrived. Tamarack is SO beautiful and we loved being up in the mountains for the entire week.

The kids loved trying on Grandma's glasses :)
The wildflowers were extra pretty this year.  We loved going on morning or nightly walks around the resort.
The kids were so excited when their cousins showed up at the cabin the day after we arrived. Our kids line up so great - Luke & Aiden, Noah & Brennan, and Lily & Callie. And luckily Lily & Callie include Graham a lot so he is not left out.
We spent the next 3 days boating as much as possible. This year everyone improved SO much and it was so fun to see! Aiden stayed up for a long time, Brennan surfed without the rope, and Callie even surfed by her self and stayed up for more than 5 minutes! And Graham - that boy LOVES the water!  I've never seen him happier than when he was surfing with Nate.  They even mastered some tricks and he wanted every turn to by his turn :) Boating as a family is the best!
Graham's new trick...
All of the surfing sure wore this boy out!

We rented a side by side this year and had fun exploring some of the ATV trails around Tamarack. We found lots of thimbleberry patches and that was a big highlight picking and eating those!
Late nights and sleepovers with cousins is a highlight for the kids too.
This year Aiden and Brennan slept outside in a tent with Luke for half of the week.  They were brave to be out there all alone and they loved the adventure.
We had our first white water rafting experience and had a blast.  It was very family friendly and not too scary (mainly 2s and 3s) but still exciting and a lot of fun. On the chill parts of the ride we swam and floated in the river.  And then during the rapids we secured our feet and listened to the guide tell us when and how hard to paddle. Halfway through the trip we stopped for lunch and a small break before going again. At the very end we went down Howard's Plunge which was the scariest of all the rapids but luckily we didn't fall out and the boat stayed upright :)  And then everyone had the opportunity to jump off a big rock into the river.  Even Diane did it! The kids all did it too and loved it. And then we floated down to the end.
Our cute river guides. They were awesome and made it such a fun experience!
When we weren't boating, there was some mountain bike rides, pickleball, swimming, fort building, picking thimble berries, and lots of fun.

Jared & Trina & fam had to leave halfway through the week so we finished the week with just our fam and Diane.  We explored on the side by side, did some mountain bike rides, swam at the resort pool, played at the beach in McCall, and stayed up late playing SkyJo each night.
It was an amazing week! This tradition is definitely a highlight each year! We're already looking forward to next year!
