Nate got tickets to a Jazz game through work and we had the best time going to cheer them on! It's been so long since we've gone to a game and it felt so nice to be back! Not all of the seats were filled (becaues of Covid) and it was kind of nice to not have the crowds at the game. These guys are HUGE Jazz fans and we loved cheering them on in person!
My neighborhood hiking group did our first hike in the snow and we had such a great time! It was my first hike in the snow ever too. We bundled up and put spikes on our shoes and hiked through AF Canyon and had such a great time! It was pretty cold up there but once we were moving it wasn't bad at all! The views were amazing and I'm excited to start hiking more year-round - not just in warmer weather.
Aiden and Brennan had a great basketball season! We went to a lot of games throughout the month. Brennan's Junior Jazz team ended up finishing the season undefeated and Aiden's team ended up in the championship game as well but lost that last game. Brennan's playing Bantam too and even though they didn't win all of their Bantam games, Brennan played awesome and his team grew a lot throughout the season. Aiden and Lucas played against each other twice and it was fun to cheer on both teams for those games.
One Saturday, we headed up to Rich and Kamilla's new house in Oakley. They just moved to an A-frame cabin up in mountains above Oakley. We met up with all of Nate's good buddies from high school and their families and had a blast playing in the snow! It had been a while since we had all gotten together so it was fun to catch up and enjoy the winter wonderland with all of them.
There's a huge hill by their house and the kids sled down it for hours. Just like skiing, Graham had no fear so he'd get going so fast and never brake! It was a little unnerving to watch but he was having the time of his life.
Parker would pile everyone in his side by side to take them to the top of the hill and to the frozen lake above Rich and Kamilla's house. We played on Rich's snowmobile as well which was so fun!
There were a couple big snow storms in February and the kids played in the snow a ton! They made snow cones out of real snow, built a snowman, and they worked for hours building a big man-made sledding hill they could sled down.
I stayed in the warm house working on a puzzle and Aiden helped me a bunch!
Here's their homemade sledding skill:
The most exciting thing in February....We bought a side by side!! We've talked about getting one for years and after riding in the Redding's side by side we wanted one even more! :) It feels like our kids are getting older fast and we only have a few more years (5 1/2 to be exact) before Aiden leaves home so we want to capitalize on this time as much as possible. When we were shopping around for one we wanted one that would fit all 6 of us and one we could feel safe in. We ended up getting the Kawasaki Mule and we love it!! We are so excited for all of the memories we'll make in it!
We headed to Soldier Pass for our first long ride. We dressed warm and brought some blankets and the weather really wasn't too bad! We had so much fun exploring and hanging out as a family. Each of the kids took turns driving and they loved being behind the wheel :) By the time they're 16, they'll have plenty of practice driving already!
