We spent Labor day weekend camping at Joe's Valley Reservoir with the Brewers! We had never been there before and Nate just randomly booked it and it was such a cool place! The water was super low bc of the drought but still so beautiful. We explored in the side by side, played by the reservoir (and got super muddy!), did a little kayaking, rode around on the Brewer's tote goats, played games, hung out by the fire, and had an amazing time with the Brewers!
We had a scare with the tote goat. Aiden and Paige were riding around the camp ground one afternoon. The road going around the campground is a one way street and they were going against traffic. They came around a corner and there was a huge truck and luckily Paige barely missed it but since the breaks on Aiden's mini motorcycle weren't working great he couldn't stop himself and he ran right into the truck. Aiden was really tough and had some battle wounds to show for it. But it really shook up both him and Paige and they didn't ride around again after that. We are so grateful no one was seriously injured!
Nate and Graham and I went on a little kayak ride and when we were in the middle of the lake we realized we never plugged up the hole on the bottom and we were filling with water! The water was freezing and we really didn't want to have to swim in it so luckily we made it to shore real quick to fix it.
Having the side by side while camping is so fun because we can explore all over! Nate took us on a crazy trail up a mountain and it was a little sketchy in parts. I think Nate loves the challenge :)
More beauties from the garden:
We volunteered at the Food and Care Coalition in Provo and fed dinner to the patrons there. Brennan couldn't make it because he had football practice so Kason came instead.
BYU/Utah game!! These kids are HUGE BYU fans so we were all so excited for the game! The Gardners rented a big blow up screen and invited everyone in the neighborhood to come watch the game! It was fun to watch it outside with so many friends/neighbors and especially fun for all of the BYU fans because we finally beat Utah!
September weather is the best so we tried to soak it up as much as possible! We rode our side by side to G&G's house one Sunday afternoon.
Graham's outfit for church...When did he grow up?!
And I was crazy and hiked Timp again this month! This time with some neighbor friends! We started early again and it was cold since it was September! We were so happy when that sun finally came out. We had such a great time hiking and talking and solving all of the world's problems :) The views were stunning again! When we reached the Summit we were the only ones up there for a bit which was amazing!! It was so peaceful and beautiful. We stayed at the top for over an hour resting and eating lunch and soaking it all in. I'm not usually a stop and smell the roses type of person but I really loved just taking it slow up there and not feeling rushed to come right back down. Since I had just done the hike it was a lot easier the 2nd time around. After the hike we ate at Torchy's Tacos to refuel.
Aiden did cross country for the first time this year and he did great! He improved so much during his season and he was so fun to watch!
Another night we went out on our side by side again to Five Mile Pass. The kids were fascinated with the mines and loved taking turns driving. Brennan had practice again so Lucas came with us instead.
Nate and Graham finished flag football. Such a fun season to watch these cute little Kindergarteners!
We checked out the progress of the Saratoga Springs temple and it's going up fast! We're so excited to have a temple so close!
Everyone once in a while I have an epiphany of just how old our kids are getting! One perk of having them grow up is helping out with chores :)
Aiden also played flag football this year and Nate was also his coach. Nate loves when I volunteer him :) Aiden did great as QB and wide receiver and he was a lot of fun to watch!
