July 2022

We started of July with Andrew and Melanie and kids coming to town. We love when they come to town! We packed in a lot of fun things in the couple of weeks they were in town. Butterfly Biosphere, hike to Horsetail Falls, the girls did a fun acting/performing camp and put on the show Little Mermaid, we swam, we went to camping in yurts in Heber Valley for a night, and just spending time hanging out at my parent's house.
The girls after their Little Mermaid show:
Heber Valley is such a beautiful place! We loved the yurts we stayed in and the close bathrooms and mini kitchen. It's my kind of camping! We played games, hiked around, did the ropes course (which I did too even though I'm afraid of heights!), canoed, played in the peddle boats, did axe throwing, and played 9 Square. Aiden was at FSY until Saturday morning so Nate ran down early on Saturday morning to pick him up so he could enjoy Heber Valley a little too.
Even Graham did it! He was so brave.

4th of July was wonderful! Nathan and Danae and family came in town too so it was fun to have the entire Curtis family together! Here's our festive church clothes (Aiden was already at church preparing the sacrament):
On the 4th, the whole Curtis clan spent the morning and afternoon playing at Highland Glen. My parents rented some fun water toys and we had a great time playing! It was busy there but we still had fun in the water and on the beach!
That evening we had everyone over to our house for a BBQ and 9 square. It was a ton of fun! Then Jesse did his firework show. All I can say is WOW. It was bigger and crazier than ever before! I was a big stress case during it because we were so close and it was so crazy. Because it was super windy that night, most of the debris ended up in our yard. A bunch of fireworks were landing on our roof so I was kinda stressed but mostly everyone else had fun :)
The older kids did baptisms for the dead one morning. Love these cute cousins!
We took all the girls up to the Grand America to have Tea at the Grand and it was so fun! Such a great girl's day! It was fun to get all dolled up and enjoy some yummy treats and tea.
We took the boys on a date to Thor: Love and Thunder and it was fun to hang out with the boys but wow that was a weird movie! Definitely a one-time only movie.
We swam at the Lindon pool with all the Curtis cousins.
We went to dinner with our high school friends. We go months without seeing these guys but we always pick right up where we left off! So grateful we still spend time with them occasionally so many years later.
Sweet April Clark in our ward and neighborhood passed away. Her fight with colon cancer was brutal and short and it was surreal that she was gone so soon. Her service was beautiful. My presidency and I worked hard to make sure the luncheon was special and beautiful for their family. April will never be forgotten. Her grace and grit and faith during her fight with cancer was inspiring.
Graham came down dressed for church one day. Love this little stud!
We hung out at Highland Glen with the Brewers one day and had a great time.
The previous year Nate went on an all-boys camp out to a beautiful, remote spot up in the Manti-La Sal mountains. He loved it so much he brought us back for another camp trip! We met up with the Brewers and A&S Tadjes there. The camp spot is called Twelve Mile Flat. It's WAY up in the mountains at over 10,000 feet of elevation. It's right next to Skyline Drive so it's perfect for driving the mule and four-wheeler. Since it's so high up in the mountains, it was pretty rainy and pretty chilly the first couple of days! We tried to stay warm by the fire and in dry clothes but it was kinda hard. But we made the most of the moisture. And it was one of the most beautiful camp locations we've ever stayed at! Beautiful and green and the wild flowers were to die for!
There's a really cool hike to this big hole in the rock and through it you can see our camp spot perfectly.
The kids played a lot of wiffleball and rode the toys and drove their R/C cars. It was the perfect place because there were only a couple other campers in the same area.
The field right next to our campsite:
Aiden kept growing like a weed during the summer...he's SO close to Nate's height now!
We did our annual girls trip to the Shakespeare Festival and it was so fun! We shopped and ate and saw some amazing shows! This year we saw so many amazing shows! We saw the Sound of Music, Clue, and The Tempest. I love this tradition and hope we keep it up for many more years to come!
While I was at Shakespeare, Nate took the kids down to Moab to play!
The last weekend of July, Nate took the boys on their annual boys only camp out. Justin and Ty and Aaron and his boys were planning to go but everyone else bailed out so it was just Nate and our boys. They went to Fish Lake for a couple of days to ride the toys, drive their R/C cars, and just hang out. Graham got to go with them this year and was super excited!

July was a busy month! A few others things I don't have pictures of: Graham's sports camp, Cam's homecoming, Dallin's farewell, Ella's baptism, Top Golf for all of the Curtis boys, Megan's bridal shower, Brennan working hard detailing cars for our neighbors, tennis camp for Aiden and Brennan, trips to splash summit, and more.
