May 2022

I started off the month hosting a Cinco de Mayo neighborhood Bunco. I am so grateful we live in such an amazing neighborhood and I love these monthly girls nights! Sheridan had an authentic sombrero for the hostess to wear!
Graham's cute kindergarten teacher put on the cutest Mother's Day program. He's had such a great year in this class! I've helped at least once a week, so I've gotten to know Mrs. Bowen and his classmates really well too. His teacher put together a slideshow of the year and out of nowhere I started crying and feeling so sad my little baby is so grown up and wrapping up his kindergarten year! Time goes by too fast!
Nate and I snuck away for a little hike up to Stewart Falls. I love this time of year when it starts warming up and we can be outside more!
Mother's Day was wonderful! I felt so loved by Nate and the kids. Being a mom is the best and I'm so grateful to get to spend my days with these four! My one request for Mother's Day was a picture of me and the kids.
We spent the evening at my parent's house. So grateful for my mom and Becca and the other women in my life!

My mom retired from the MOTAB this month so Andrew and Nathan both came to town to celebrate and go to her recognition ceremony and last Music and the Spoken Word. The Saturday before we took our families on a hike to the Suspension Bridge in Draper. It's a fun, short hike.
Saturday night my parents took their five kids to a yummy restaurant in Brigham City. It was great to spend time with the original 7 of us!
On Sunday we all went up to Music and the Spoken Word and celebrated all my mom has accomplished the past few years singing in the Tabernacle Choir! It's a huge commitment so it was a bittersweet day for her. We had a picnic by the capitol afterwards.
All of the end of school year concerts and activities were in full swing as well! Aiden had his last choir concert.
Callie had her dance concert and did an amazing job! Here she is for her dress rehearsal:
She is in cast D so she performs Saturday night, but another cast performs on Friday night so we have made it a tradition to go see her concert together every Friday night. Since she's backstage for the actual performance it's fun to for her to see the entire thing. We always go out for dinner and dessert as well and it's a fun tradition!
Saturday she did a wonderful job and had a lot of supporters to come watch her perform.
The kids performed in their school dance festival. It was Brennan's last performance at River Rock and I think he was excited about that ;)
Aiden and Callie and I went to Meg and Paige's performance of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. We always love to see them in their various plays.
Field Day was a ton of fun for the younger kids.
These two boys waiting to be picked up for their last day of school. This will be the only year the two of them will be at the same school so I had to document ;)
The 6th grade had a lot of celebrations to signify the end of the elementary years. They had a "clap out" and breakfast and some fun class parties. Brennan moved here in 4th grade and these two boys - Colt and Crew - were the first kids to welcome him and become instant friends with him.
Gridiron wrapped up for the season. Being on a team with a bunch of friends has been so much fun for B! They didn't win the Superbowl but they had a great season and had lots of fun!
Random side note - getting Callie ready one morning I realized just how long her hair has gotten! She was so bald until she was about 2 so I never thought her hair would get so long. Her hair is the prettiest color!
Nate started a huge project in May. Our sprinklers in our backyard were all messed up and a lot of our grass was never getting water. He decided to add some sprinkler heads but it was a long, hard project finding the sprinkler lines and getting it just right. Brennan worked hard right along side with Nate. He is such a hard worker and is willing to do anything for money.
How they really felt about digging into our clay-like soil ;)
They worked on it rain or snow.
I snuck this picture while we were doing family scripture study. Sometimes there's fighting but sometimes there are peaceful moment like this and it's the best!
Sweet April Clark in our ward was fighting stage IV colon cancer. We wore blue to show our love and support to her. April was so courageous in her fight with cancer. Sadly, she passed away in June leaving behind her husband and three little kids. It was definitely a whirlwind for our ward and neighborhood and it was sad watching her and her family go through such a horrible diagnosis and eventually losing her after just 6 months. Her funeral was the first one I did as a Relief Society president and it was hard! It was such a sad loss, way before her time. April reminded us all to have more faith and that life is fragile.
On Memorial Day, we visited Dave's grave. It's crazy he passed away in January 2020. We are so grateful for this family he built and his example and devotion to the gospel.
If you look close at the picture of everyone by Dave's grave you'll notice Diane had a new friend by her ;) To everyone's surprise, Diane started dating a guy in her stake (a mutual friend set them up) on a Tuesday and by that next Sunday Diane was engaged and then married the following Tuesday. It was definitely a whirlwind romance and all of the kids had to process the change quickly but we were so happy for her! Gary is such a friendly and  wonderful guy and he loves Diane and they make the best pair! Life is not meant to be done alone so we're so happy for them!
