November 2023

Aiden went to his first high school dance! A cute girl named Shali asked him and their dance group was such a fun group of kids! A lot of them are some of Aiden's closest friends at Lehi. He had a blast! The theme was bougie, hence the big glasses and scarves. I'm still kind of in denial that we have a kid this old?! But having Aiden go through high school has been bringing back so many fun memories and I'm so glad Aiden's loving it!
Callie had her last cheer competition in November. Her team did great and it was the best part of cheer.
Graham did an ancestor project at school and wrote about Grandpa Tadje. It was the sweetest little tribute to him <3
Still trying to get used to Aiden driving us around...he is becoming more confident in driving and it's less stressful to be in the passenger seat ;)
Aiden had his cross country banquet. He had an amazing season! He made some really good friends and worked so hard! I am so grateful he is a part of cross country!
Lehi went to the semi-finals for football so we checked the kids out early and headed up to Rice Eccles Stadium to cheer them on. Lehi lost but it was still a fun day.
Nate traveled to Vancouver, Canada for work. It was his first time there and he said it was a really cool city so we're hoping to go back sometime.
Aiden got his braces off! Happy day!
He looks so handsome and grown up!
Nate scored some tickets to a BYU basketball game at work. Little did we know how amazing the tickets were! We were fed an amazing dinner beforehand in the practice facility, and then got to watch the game on one of the first few rows. The Winkelmans joined us and it was such a fun double date!
At halftime, we got to come back in and choose as many halftime snacks as we wanted. There were all the BYU classics - Cougar tails, mint brownies, Creamery ice cream. We stuffed ourselves til we were sick. We just had to try a little of everything! It was pretty awesome to be treated like royalty during the game!
We went to a football tournament in Mesquite with Brennan's football team. We got to spend time with some of Brennan's friends and their families (that we're also friends with) and we enjoyed some of Brennan's last football games for the season. There's not a ton to do in Mesquite so we drove to Saint George for dinner and swam in the pool at the hotel and just hung out during those couple of days we were down there. The games were *really* late at night so we bundled up and cheered them on late into the night.  Graham would convince Nate to throw them the football during the games. Callie and I tried to stay as warm as possible bundled up on the sideline. Aiden didn't go with us because he was on his own trip at the Nike Cross Regionals in Arizona! He didn't take any pictures so I don't have proof of that, but he went down to run one last race for the season. He had a blast with his team and enjoyed every minute except the wet, muddy race! :)
Brennan's team lost so we headed back Saturday morning. And we made it back right in time for a fun Friendsgiving at the Wood's house. Cathy is the ultimate host...her charcuterie board and chocolate turkeys were the cutest! We love our neighborhood friends!
We got to attend the open house of the new Orem Temple. My parents came with us. It's a beautiful temple!
And then we hit up Chili's after:
Thanksgiving morning Aiden ran the Thankful 10k at Thanksgiving Point. We came to cheer him on at the end!
Then we did our annual bowling with the Blackhams! It's a favorite tradition.
Then a yummy dinner at grandpa and grandma's
Over the break Becca and I took Callie, Savannah, and Sage to the Taylor Swift Eras Tour. We were huge Taylor fans before but the concert was amazing! It was so fun to go see.
My parents, Callie, and I went to the Nutcracker in Salt Lake. It was amazing! We hope it's a new Christmas tradition!
I got to tag along on one of Nate's work events - wining and dining some customers in the Jazz bunker suite! What a cool event. Good food, good seats, and a good time!
I took Brennan and his buddies to do baptisms. I love his group of friends and love that they do this together!
Nate had deviated septum surgery and sinus surgery. We hit our deductible from all of Graham's medical things so it was time for Nate to have this taken care of! The surgery went well but Nate spent hours trying to come out of anesthesia! He was throwing up blood and not able to wake up for a long time. By the next morning he was a ton better! The recovery was rough for a few days but he's happy he did the surgery now.
I was able to tag along on Callie's choir field trip to the Festival of Trees. It was fun to see her choir sing and then chaperone a little group around as we looked at trees, wreaths, and gingerbread houses.
The trees are always so amazing!
