condo days

This pic was taken from our window. Doesn't get much better than that! During our stay in Orlando, we stayed at Wyndam's Bonnet Creek resort - right on Disney's property.  This picture does not even do it justice to how beautiful it was! The entire resort was set up around this huge lake, with a board walk connecting each of the condo buildings.    And along the board walk, there were 5 different pools, lazy rivers, a mini golf course, hot tubs, playgrounds, and restaurants. It was like living in paradise.
We spent a lot of time at the pools.  Each day we would try a new one out.  Our favorites were the pool with the splash park and lazy river and the pool with the pirate ship. The hot tubs were a big hit too.
(Guess Brennan wasn't quite ready to get in the water that day)
Another favorite was bath time with cousins. They could have stayed in there all night.
Another reason this resort is awesome is because it is so kid friendly.  Each day of the week they have activities for the kids (like ice cream socials and arts and crafts) but we only had time for a few.  We joined in for the lawn games, the bounce house, and an outdoor movie night.
Most nights, we played games after the kids went to bed.  Our favorite was Telestrations which had us laughing our heads off the whole time.  It was perfect for my family because we are not artistic so our drawings turned out to be both ridiculous and hilarious.

Even though we were on vacation, my parents still wanted to fix us a fancy Thanksgiving meal, so on Friday, they whipped up all of the Thanksgiving staples - turkey, potatoes, stuffing, pies. The meal turned out delicious.  Afterwards, Melanie and my mom had put together some "Minute to Win It" games for us.  We got to race to wrap ourselves in toilet paper, unravel streamers, transfer an oreo to our mouth with no hands, and a ton of other fun but embarrassing games.
One of the best parts of the trip was watching the 5 grandkids play together.  Now that Jackson lives in Boston, Camryn and Sydney live in DC, and our boys are still in Utah, they don't get to see each other too often.  But they are still the best of little buddies.  One day we ventured out to downtown Disney and rode the monorail around Disney.  The kids walked around holding hands and sticking close together.  When we were just hanging out at the condo, they would color and do puzzles together and play make-believe (even though they would argue about whether they were on a train, a rocket, or a fire truck).  But I'm so glad we got to go on this trip all together so these 5 had time with each other.
My parents gave them all an early Christmas present - these adorable matching outfits.  We thought it would be a great idea to get a pic of all of them together, but as this next picture shows, the kids were not too interested in that.  It turned into more of a wrestling match then a photo shoot.  But here's an idea of their cute outfits:

So fun! Crazy that we went there only a couple weeks apart! Your condo sounded AMAZING! Sigh... I wish we could go back to that nice, warm weather.
