baby GIRL!

On February 4th (when I was almost 22 weeks along) we found out we're expecting a baby GIRL!  We were super excited to know we'd be adding some pink into our lives!  After the doctor told us it was a girl and making him check twice, it still took me a couple of hours for the news to sink in.  But we really are so happy to have a little girl!  Aiden really wanted a sister so he was sure excited with the news.  It's funny because a lot of people kept telling me, "I bet you're hoping for a girl because you already have two boys," but I really didn't feel that way at all.  Raising these two boys has been so incredibly fun and rewarding I would be so happy to have another little boy in our family or to have a whole new experience raising a little girl.  I knew Heavenly Father would send the child down to our family that was meant to be a part of it.  But even though I didn't care the baby's gender, I still wanted to know so we could prepare for the baby's arrival.

The entire pregnancy I kept going back and forth on thinking if it was a boy or girl.  When I was super sick at the beginning of the pregnancy, multiple people told me all the morning sickness I was experiencing meant I was probably having a girl. And because I never got sick with my boy's pregnancies, I believed that old wives tale for a while.  Then when I started feeling better, I felt we were going to have another boy.  Plus the fact that Tadjes have mostly boys (out of 32 grandkids, only 9 are girls).  So I figured we'd probably follow suit and add another little Tadje boy.   Then at 15 weeks the doctor did an ultrasound just to see if we could tell the gender yet...but the umbilical cord was in the way so we had no luck. So by the time my next ultrasound came at 21 1/2 weeks, we were super excited to finally find out.

Anyway, we are excited to finally know what we're having!  I've learned that girl clothes are so dang cute and I'm going to need a serious budget for the kid's clothes now!  And i guess I've gotta learn how to make all the cute bows and frilly things too.

I've been feeling great the last month and a half too.  After what felt like forever of being sick this pregnancy, I finally feel back to normal...as normal as you can feel while pregnant :)  No more nausea and no more back pain for now which has been awesome.  I hope that lasts!

I do feel like I'm growing exponentially this time around though.  It's interesting how each pregnancy is so different.  I got pretty big when I was pregnant with Aiden, but during Brennan's pregnancy I stayed pretty small and didn't gain much at all.  This time around, I started showing early and I've been growing fast.  I can't believe I still have 15 weeks to go!  I'll be lugging a watermelon around by the end probably :)  But it is good to know the baby is growing right on schedule!

I haven't been good at taking pictures of my belly this time around.  I'm not one to document my pregnancy too much, but I did manage to take a few pictures of my growing bump.  Here I am at  24 weeks:
Now I'm just hoping Nate and I can decide on a name before the baby comes!!
