She is one!

I can hardly believe Callie is already one!  I know it is cliche to say, but I honestly think this has been the fastest year of my life.  I seriously love her soooo much! Sometimes I feel like my heart could burst from loving her so much! She is the center of our little family.  Her big brothers dote on her, her daddy loves her more than he thought imaginable, and she is my little buddy all day every day - always on my hip or in my arms. A baby is a lot of work but they also bring so much joy in a home and we have felt so much happiness this year being a family of five!  

We had my talented friend Alex take some pictures of Callie.  I want to remember Callie at this age forever and I think Alex captured our sweet girl perfectly.  I will post more pictures once Alex is finished editing them, but here are a few in the meantime:

Here are a few facts about Callie at age one:

- She is not walking yet but she has been taking steps for a little over a month.  She can balance standing up forever so she probably has the capability to walk but I think she realizes crawling is just so much faster. I am sure she will walk any day now!

- Her favorite thing to eat is cheese.  

- Just before her first birthday, I weaned her.  She nursed great her entire first year of life and she always refused to take a bottle.  But a few weeks ago (after she bit me) I gave her a bottle and she took it!  So I figured because she was about one (and has 8 teeth) it was about time to stop nursing.  I think it was harder on me than it was on her. She takes a bottle just great now! Or her "ba ba" as she calls it.

- She can wave, clap, and blow kisses and she says "mama" and "dada" but I don't think she knows what that means yet.

- She sleeps through the night now (finally!) and takes two naps a day.

- She loves the stairs.  We have so many stairs in our house and she is constantly wanting to climb.  She is great going up but she doesn't quite know how to go down yet.

- She loves to be sung to and rocked in the rocking chair.  She loves to cuddle too and often lays on my shoulder or Nate's shoulder just because.  It is the sweetest thing!

- She LOVES water - drinking water, playing in water, and bath time.  She is a little fishy.

- She hates to get dressed or have her diaper changed.  She screams and tries to roll away the entire time.  Hopefully she outgrows that soon.

- She is SO busy...she is always on the go and when you are holding her she likes to be moving.  And when she is in her stroller she likes to be pushed.  She is the energizer bunny (until nap time).

- She loves playing with her brothers.  They love giving her hugs and kisses.  We all love her a lot and couldn't imagine life without our baby girl!
