June mega-post

June was a crazy month for us (like usual) - Callie's birthday, then Aiden's birthday, then Nate's, then Father's day (all within 2 weeks of each other).  I also threw a bridal shower for my friend Nikki.  Plus we had lots of our Tadje family come to town so there were some fun playdates with them.  And then all the usual summer stuff - swim lessons, sports, swimming, BBQs, playgroups, Cedar Hills days, etc.  So June was busy but so much fun! I have lots of pictures to post so bear with me...

{BBQ with Orem friends}
Our friends Michelle and Ryan hosted a BBQ with some friends from our old ward. All of these men served in the Elder's Quorum presidency together a while ago. Most of us have moved away so it was fun to get together and catch up. Thanks Michelle for hosting!
 {Baseball Season}
Both boys have been playing baseball throughout May and June.  Brennan has been on a t-ball team and Aiden on a machine pitch team.  Aiden especially loved playing and it's been so fun to see him progress this season. Brennan liked it too but he says he likes soccer better. He got to be on his buddy Briggs' team for both soccer and baseball so that was fun.
{Tadje kids in town}
All of Nate's siblings came to town so we could hold a meeting with everyone about his parent's future.  It is very rare his siblings are all together so it was great having them all here.  Carolyn brought her youngest three kids so our boys loved playing with them too.  A couple week later, Trina came down with her youngest five kids and we had more fun with them at Highland Glen park and playing here on our cul-de-sac.  We love when family comes to town!
 {Birthday Celebrations}
Callie turned TWO on June 7th and Aiden turned SEVEN on the 13th.  I can't believe these little kids of mine are growing up so fast!  This stage of life is so much fun and I love seeing them learn and grow every day.  And Nate turned the big 3-0 this year too! Most of our friends are already in their thirties so it doesn't seem as old as it used to :) Maybe it will be when I turn 30 in a year and a half! For Nate's birthday, he got his fancy road bike and we did our ATV excursion which I already posted about.  And we met up with some friends and family at U-Swirl for frozen yogurt on his actual birthday. And I already posted about Callie's ice cream party and Aiden's water party too...but we celebrated June birthdays a couple more times during the month with our extended families...so I wanted to document that too.
Callie shares a birthday with Grandpa Tadje, her uncle Erik, and her cousin Ike so June 7th is a pretty cool day in the Tadje family.  We got together in Erik & Amie's backyard that night to celebrate.
We had another June birthday party at Luanne's house too.  Our kids are so lucky to have so many cousins and second cousins.
 {Cedar Hills days}
Even though we don't live in Cedar Hills, it's still our favorite city days because it's a little smaller but still a lot of fun. We go with my parents every year and they spoil our kids with unlimited ride passes and yummy food.
 Callie was too small to ride most of the rides and she kept getting her feelings hurt when her brothers could go on rides but she couldn't.  She thinks she is so grown up!  Poor girl.
 {Curiousity Museum with Kunzlers}
We love having a pass to Thanksgiving Point.  We go as often as we can.  The Curiousity museum is our favorite.  Our friends the Kunzlers had never been so we had so much fun going with them for their first time.
 The Kunzler girls are all so helpful with my little kids.  Nikki is the best babysitter and Callie loves her!
 Brennan and Sophie are such good buds too.  We found them holding hands and it was so cute!
And we saw Aiden holding Elise's hand.  They are a few years apart but they get along great too.
 {Nikki's Shower and Wedding}
One of my very best friends from high school got married this month!  She found her perfect match and I am so happy for her.  Ashley, Wendy, and I threw Nikki a little shower with some high school friends.  It was like a little mini high school reunion and it was so fun.
 Since none of us know her fiance cause he lives in Omaha, we did Facetime so we could meet him.  Even over the phone they seem head over heels for each other.
A week and a half later, Nate and I got to celebrate with Nikki during her wedding dinner, temple ceremony, and reception.  Everything about her wedding was classy and beautiful.  I am so happy for her!
{Babysitting Swaps}
We did some babysitting swaps with Aaron and Samantha and with Steve and Rayane this month.  I especially love getting to hold sweet little Claire.  Callie is obsessed with Claire too.  They will be good buddies one day.
Aaron and Samantha took Aiden to his first rodeo one night too.  He loved it!  Nate and I never go to rodeos but we need to start taking our kids more often.
{Hair cutting issue}
Who knows why Brennan decided to cut a big chunk out of his hair one day, but he did.  So he got a little buzz cut.  It actually looks pretty cute on him.  Maybe we'll do it each summer.
 {Swimming Lessons}
The boys have been taking swim lessons at a private pool in Pleasant Grove.  They have progressed a bunch and I am so proud of them!  They have been so nervous about jumping off diving boards and swimming to the side of the pool but they both did it! We go swim at the rec center a lot and they get lots of practice.
Callie wants to jump in like her brothers so most of the time I chase her around.  Every once in a while I can talk her into cuddling with me and just watching the lessons.
{Knee Problem...again}
My patellofemoral pain appeared again because I was started to run longer distances.  I had this about four years ago and I didn't think it would come back....but it did.  So I think running just isn't for me.  It's been annoying to have this pain (mainly in my right knee) for the last few months...especially during the summer.  I can't hike or run or do anything too active.  So I just started going to physical therapy and getting ASTYM treatments done to help me heal quicker.  I think it's already helping but my legs look like I have been beat up!  I'm one big bruise...but I know it will be worth it! (Sorry for the gross picture...but I want to remember not to run again!)
 {Vernal Excursion}
Nate had a work meeting in Vernal one day so we tagged along so we could hang out with him all day.  While he met with his client, we hung out at an awesome park there.  It was really hot outside but we had fun.
 When Nate was done, we ate lunch and then headed to the Quarry at Dinosaur National Monument.  It was our first time there and it was pretty cool to see so many fossils and dinosaur bones on the quarry. I don't know how dinosaurs all fit into the creation of our world but it's evident they lived on this earth at some point. It was a fun day of exploring.
 {Summer Lovin'}
And a lot of the month, these kids have played outside.  We love being outside and it has been a fun and HOT summer playing in the water, eating otter pops, and finding shade.
There are a lot of things I didn't document from June too - like Aiden's week-long basketball camp at Lone Peak, temple trip with the Tadjes, park days each Wednesday with friends, more play dates with friends, Father's day with our dads, and BBQs with neighbors and friends. Now bring on July!
