Idaho Trip

Nate loved his bike adventure so much last year (even though it was incredibly hard!) that he decided to do it again! This year his ride was about 90 miles through the mountains. It was only Jared and Nate this year.  When they began their ride it was rainy and cold but luckily it cleared up.  They spent the first night in a little cabin (with no electricity) and then continued their ride all the way to Jared's cabin the 2nd day.  The 2nd day was a brutal climb but they eventually made it.  Nate had some great stories to tell about it so I will have to have him do a little post about it sometime.

While they were on their ride, the kids and I stayed with Trina at her house.  Jared and Trina have such a fun house with their farm animals, toy room, big yard, and a neighbor with a zipline.  The kids had a blast there.  Friday afternoon, the kids and I headed up to the cabin to meet up with Nate when he arrived from his ride.  Aaron & Samantha drove up from Utah that day to join us too.
The weather wasn't ideal up at Tamarack (a little overcast, rainy, and cold) but that didn't stop us from boating that Friday when we got there.  The kids bundled together to keep warm and only a few people got in the water.  We were the ONLY boat on the entire lake!  That was a first.  The cold didn't stop us from having fun.
Nate tried wake surfing again and liked it...even though the water felt like ice.
I captured his fall perfectly :)
On Saturday, we woke up and drove up to Gold Fork Hot Springs.  We saw lots of cows on the road on our drive up there and we kept saying, "only in Idaho!"  The hot springs were amazing.  It was really cold outside and even raining a little so it was nice to warm up in the water.
Trina and her kids joined us Saturday afternoon and we had a blast the next couple of days with our three families.  Because it was too cold to boat, we hiked a little, played games, hung out in the hot tub, roasted smores, watched the BYU, ate yummy food, went to church in McCall, and had a great time hanging out.
It was the perfect Labor day weekend and we are already looking forward to next year!
