We had originally planned to go camping with my parents over Labor Day but since we were supposed to move the the following weekend we decided to have just the boys spend the night and Nate and the kids and I just went up Friday night and then slept at home and then came back up for a long time on Saturday. We had a fun time up in the canyon and spent the afternoon at Tibble Fork.
Nate and I both like to be clean and organized and this move went pretty smoothly because we had all bins and boxed perfectly labeled. I guess you can say we're both OCD!
I had to cancel the boys sports in American Fork (flag football for both and soccer for Brennan) and dance for Callie - and I had to register them at their new school so it was a busy month of getting packed up and organized and switching kids activities. Graham found my phone one time when I was registering the kids for school and I found hundreds of selfies of him :)
Leaving our friends and family and school and activities and everything we've know was difficult. Although we were excited for a new adventure and chapter of our lives - change is hard! I found this sweet note Brennan wrote his 3rd grade teacher that he only had for a few weeks before we moved.
The day of the move we had TONS of help! We are so blessed to have to many wonderful people that care about us. The move out of our AF home was smooth. The move into our new home in South Weber wasn't as smooth because the seller wanted her way for everything and wouldn't budge. In the end she left the house before cleaning it and it was an added stress having to move in there and clean everything top to bottom while unpacking. We eventually hired cleaners to clean the basement because it was too much work for us alone. But soon the house was clean and ready for us to completely unpack.
The first night we moved in the 3 youngest kids had the biggest and messiest bubble bath ever and they were in heaven!
We moved in on Saturday and on Monday the kids started school at South Weber Elementary. I've only heard wonderful things about the school and about Davis School District so we were happy they got to go to another great school like Shelley. The kids didn't seem too nervous to go to a new school and they immediately made friends in their classes and felt right at home at a new school. That was a huge blessing!
Aiden got Mrs. Matlack for 5th grade, Brennan got Mrs. Hubbard for 3rd grade, and Callie got Mrs. King for Kindergarten but they had no room in the afternoon so she started going in the morning with her brothers and being done by 11:40.
Graham and I spent most of September unpacking boxes and making our new house a home. I was at Hobby Lobby and Target nearly every day and Nate was often at Home Depot getting everything we needed to take care of our yard and house.
We're not super familiar with Weber Canyon so we drove up one Sunday afternoon and explored. We live so close to the mouth of Weber canyon so I'm sure we'll be doing lots of hiking and exploring when the weather warms up again!
The kids had a day off of school so we headed up to the Train museum in Ogden that day. Ogden is known for the railroad going through it was it was fun to see some history of the area and learn about about trains.
My mom brought my grandma up one day and it was fun to show her Callie's room - because Callie's room has my grandma's old furniture in it. My mom and I used it too - so it's pretty neat this furniture has been in the family for four generations!
I like to make whenever I live feel like our families so I spent LOTS of time decorating and redecorating and trying to beautify our home. I have lots more to do until the entire house is decorated but by the end of September I had the main living space decorated and Callie's room decorated. I'll post pictures of each room as I get done decorating it.

At the end of September, I got to go to Colorado for a Girls Trip with all the Tadje women. It was SO fun to spend some quality time with all of them and see Dave and Diane. We spent the first night at Carolyn's house and then drove up to Divide Colorado and spent the second night in this cute little cabin. I can talk forever with Diane and my sister-in-laws and it was so nice to have a getaway with all of them and become even closer. I hope it's an annual tradition from now on :)
