My dad turned 60 on January 30th! So we celebrated at Leatherby's with lots of ice cream. Their serving sizes are unmatched and by the end we were so full! It was such a fun outing with the Curtis fam celebrating my dad!
Look at the size of that sundae!
That night we celebrated Justin's birthday by going on a date with them to Labryrinth which is basically a physical and mental escape room. It was super fun but not that easy! We only passed a few of the rooms but we had a ton of fun even if we weren't the best at it.
We had a Superbowl party at our house with my side of the family and had a good time (minus the scandalous halftime show!) Superbowl means lots of yummy food of course.
This picture shows what Nate calls "fruit salad" and what I call fruit salad :)
January and February were filled with basketball games. Brennan and Aiden had an amazing season! Brennan usually scored half of his teams points - and that was him passing and sharing the ball a lot. He practices basketball every spare second he has and his hard work is paying off! He got to be on a team with his buddy Ty which was fun.
On Aiden's picture day, Nate went to Aiden's game and I went to Brennan's hence the reason I have lots of pictures of B and not many of A. But Aiden also had an awesome season and we loved getting to cheer him on!
Now that Aiden has the Priesthood and has turned 11, he was able to attend the temple for the first time! It was such a special day getting to watch him do baptisms for the dead. The baptistry was super busy so we waited a long time and he was only able to do two names. But it was still a great experience. I'm so proud of Aiden and the wonderful choices he is making! He got to go again later in the week with his Deacons Quorum too.
We met up with my mom and Rayane and kids one day at the Legacy center to go swimming and the kids had so much fun! James didn't have a floatie and tried going into the deep end once and I had to sprint over and grab him...it gave me quite the scare! But other than that we had a great time and are hoping to use the pool a lot with our passes!
We came home and showered off and Graham zonked out about 6:30pm. Swimming wore him out!
We had a special breakfast on Valentines day like usual. Crepes and strawberries and cream. The kids loved their Valentines day parties at school. I was able to help in Aiden's class party and it was really fun to be a part of that. At night, Nate and I went out on a date to Strap Tank Brewery and somehow I convinced him to go shopping afterward :) It was a great V-day!
The kids got a ton of candy valentines and Aiden ate a bunch all at once and his lips turned red. It looked like he was wearing lipstick so we were laughing pretty hard!
For Christmas, all my siblings gave my parents a gift card to Sur la Table and they went to a special cooking class on Valentines night and loved it.
Graham loves to come cuddle with us in bed every morning and he immediately takes over my comfy Minky blanket :)
After church one Sunday we played some games and Callie made sure to include her baby alive. She loves baby dolls and is going to be the best mommy one day!
Graham wanted a picture too :)
And then Brennan....
And Graham again. Every time I pull out my phone to take a picture he wants one of him :)
Callie had been complaining she couldn't see the board at school and so we went to the doc for an eye exam. Luckily her eyes are just great and she doesn't need glasses! I got my eyes checked at the same time and my eyes are fine right now but are slowly getting worse. I don't have to have glasses yet but in a few years I'll need them. Part of old age I guess.
Brennan loves listening to his mp3 player....with his shades and glasses he looked like a teenager one day in the car.
One day Nate went skiing with Aiden and Brennan and so we had Steve and Rayane and kids over. Somehow Lucas allowed the girls to do his hair :) We had a fun time hanging out and I love that we live so close to Steve and Rayane!
Nate and Brennan were lucky enough to get tickets to the BYU/Gonzaga game where BYU won!! It was a huge deal for BYU and Brennan and Nate were stoked. They had a blast being at that game and Brennan talked about it for days afterward.
The kids went through a phase all month playing with perler beads and they made so many creations! I love when they get in their creative zone!
Callie loves going to dance every Monday and he especially was excited to wear a new dance skirt/tutu one day so she modeled it for us.
That sunset winter sunset was stunning!
Nate and I met up for lunch one day and we had the cutest third wheel! Love our little Graham Bam!
Other February activities -
- I hosted Bunco here at our new house!
- We had a ward date night and went bowling at Fat Cats and had so much fun! We met some new people in our ward and loved getting a date mid week!
- We did a game night at the Brewers. We love living so close to them!
- We had a few special dinners - with our old Northwestern Mutual friends the Rusts & Dowdles, with Nate's mom a few times, we fed the missionaries, and we had another dinner with our old friends from Orem the Farnsworths. We loved getting to catch up with friends and family.
- Kids had play dates with Quinn and Max and Coleman and old friends. I'm so grateful they are making new friends here in Lehi but we don't live too far for them to keep in touch with old friends too!
- I also found an amazing podiatrist that helped me figure out my foot pain. I was so happy to finally have a diagnosis! I got a cortizone shot and slowly the pain started to disappear.
