Christmas 2022

We had a wonderful Christmas and Christmas Eve! We did our annual Chinese lunch at Brent and Julie's. This tradition has been going on for years and it's one of our favorites. The kids played a fun gift unwrapping game (having to wear oven mitts and use knives to unwrap it) and we loved visiting with family.
That evening we had my parents and Becca over for fondue and the nativity and unwrapping our warm and fuzzies. Thanks to tons of neighbor gifts, we made this charcuterie board and had fondue with homemade sourdough and Christmas punch. I loved keeping Christmas Eve low key this year.
Kids loved their warm and fuzzies this year and the littles wanted a photoshoot ;)
Our annual Christmas Eve pictures by the tree:

Christmas Eve night ended up being a crazy night. Once the kids went to bed we began setting our Christmas. Nate realized that somehow he bought the wrong battery for Graham's Traaxas car! It's a special battery and with it being 10pm on Christmas Eve there was no where to buy it. Graham was SO excited for the car he asked Santa for and since he is the only kid that still belives in Santa we didn't want him to be disappointed on Christmas. So Nate frantically begins calling friends with Traaxas cars, searching through a neighbor's house that was out of town. researching how to put jimmy-rig another battery, and trying to make something work. Well, a couple hours later he finally tracked down a battery! Justin's brother in American Fork had one so Nate drove down there and picked it up!

Well...on the drive to American Fork Nate started having excruciating pain. Kidney pain. He had recently had the same pain and found out he had a couple of kidney stones. He had passed one a couple weeks before. Well - I think all of the stress made ihim start passing the other one! Worst timing. Nate was in a ton of pain all night long and most of the next morning. He barely slept. The worst of it was in the middle of the night but the entire next day he was pretty beat and still not 100%. Definitely a memorable Christmas!

The kids on the other hand had a wonderful Christmas! They were so happy and excited with their gifts this year! Among other things, Aiden got some Jordans and new basketball shoes:
And a nice new indoor ball...
Brennan got an EVO basketball and pop-up tent.
Graham's Traaxas car! That ironic thing was that the battery we borrowed was super old so it would work for a few minutes then die. So he drove his car around a little bit but Nate had to buy a new battery the next day so he could really drive it and enjoy it.
Callie got this new bag, sewing stuff, art kits, nail polish, and all things girly. She loved it all!
We went to church in the afternoon and then headed to my parents. Nate felt good enough to join! We had a great time at my parents and had dinner and opened more presents. It ended up being a great day for all of us but Nate! ;)
